Best Criterion Movie???
I am looking to do a blind buy and was hoping for opinions. For the record I own 4 Akira movies and the Royal Tenenbaums, as well as disliked brazil. I am looking for something unique, warm, and with depth. And or complex, entertaining, and thought provoking. Right now, thinking "In the Mood for love", but what does everyone think?
P.S. So far the best i have seen I would say is Seven Samurai

Since I think it's maybe the best movie ever made, I'd have to go with 8 1/2.
The Grand Illusion is also up there, as is Tokyo Story.

Don't hesitate on "In The Mood For Love" - it can be slow going if you watch it as a traditional movie - but if you watch it like you listen to, say, a piece of music, it can be a very rich and rewarding experience.

I LOVED the Robocop Criterion, especially since the regular DVD sucks and there's no SE. Definitely one of the best DVDs out there, with some of the best extras. The commentary makes the movie that much better.

Armageddon. All Michael Bay movies need the Criterion treatment!
