I was looking through the release calander at DVDJournal and saw that a SE of this is arriving on Dec 16. I'm so glad to see this getting a rerelease, as I really like the movie. I watched a crappy P&S video of it over the Thanksgiving weekend and remembered just how much I liked it. Henry Fonda is so great in this movie. It is a must buy for me.

It's a beautiful, moving film, not at all mawkish or syrupy as some critics would have you believe. The score by Dave Grusin is one of the best ever, fitting the gentle tenor of the film perfectly.

I do think, though, that the film is more meaningful to those of us who are lucky enough to have whiled away summers at the family cottage.
