Kutcher dropped because of poor acting?

Cameron Crowe could be my new hero if this is true. If only more directors were like this, movies would be much better. From IMDB:

"Kutcher Dropped Because of Poor Acting?

Ashton Kutcher was reportedly dropped from Cameron Crowe's new movie because the director was dissatisfied with his acting skills. The hunky 'That 70's Show' star explained earlier this month he had been forced to leave the cast of Elizabethtown when its filming schedule changed, and clashed with his TV commitments. However, according to a source quoted on the Pagesix website, Crowe was actually dissatisfied with Kutcher's rehearsals - and even suggested the 25-year- old consider taking acting lessons. The source claims, 'Cameron was unhappy with his read-throughs. Ashton did several and each one was worse and worse. Cameron even postponed production because he thought the readings would get better but they didn't. At one point, Cameron suggested that Ashton take acting lessons. Soon after that, they both decided it would be best if Ashton was not in the movie.' But Crowe's representative claimed ignorance of the causes behind Kutcher's departure, saying, 'I am not aware of any of this. Schedules changed but I don't know what transpired between (them).' Kutcher was also recently dropped from consideration for an upcoming Steven Soderbergh project because the Oscar-winning director was unsure whether he 'was up to par professionally' due to his public profile, fueled by his relationship with actress Demi Moore."

Good for Crowe and Soderbergh Nice to see a director actually drop a "hot" property when they realize it isn't that great.

The guy cannot act. He is just another pretty boy coasting on his looks. He should stick to co-starring with Tara Reid in cheesy PG-13 romantic comedies.

How was he hired for this film in the first place? Did he not audition?

Why do so many hate Kutcher? I'm glad Crowe dropped him if his acting was bad, but only because I'd like the film to be better.

It seems like every "pretty-boy" is hated on this forum... hmm

Not by me. James Franco is a pretty boy who can act; therefore, I like him.

"pretty boy looks"?? I'm no expert on pretty boys, but he looks like he's pretty ugly to me.

I wish that everyone would realize how bad an actor Tara Reid is and stop her from ever being in another film ever ever again. I mean, next to Tara Reid - Kutcher looks like he's got skillz and talent.

The question is, why even hire him in the first place? It's not like this is shocking...

Of course it could also just be rumor mill BS

Good, Ashton Kutcher is one of the most annoying and untalented people to come out of hollywood. This news doesn't surprise me.

He has decent comic chops, but the glimpses of dramatic acting he's done is pretty bad. I saw a preview for "The Butterfly Effect". Part of this may be due to typecasting, but he comes off as the dumb guy no matter what he plays. I have the same problem with Denise Richards, especially in her Bond movie, but at least she's easy on the eyes.

That beeeyatch probably still got paid, though.
Hollywood is one of the only places in town where you can still get paid to do poor work. I can't stand it.
Oh well, this made my day anyway; I LOVE to read about the demise of people who make a lot more money than me!!

I'll take this with a huge freaking pile of salt... from IMDB.... man, that site publishes so much BS that is unconfirmed... if it's true, it'd be a real wake up call for Ashton, but unless this is reported by some reputable source, I wouldn't believe a word of it... especially the bit about Crowe postponing production in hopes that Ashton would get better...

If they did switch production dates, there is a good solid chance that the story about TV scheduling conflicts being true... I mean, he is under contract for That 70's Show... Many a TV star has dropped out of a film because of scheduling conflicts...these things just happen.
