What a gay name. Why not Batman: Restarts? Batman: Again? Batman: You Bet Your Ass We're Still Making These?

chucks888 02-26-04 09:55 PM

Batman: Intimidation Game was bad, Batman Begins is worse.

Why not just go with Batman: Intimidation and be done with it?

My guess is this move was done by WB to make sure everyone is aware it's a restart.

So Batman: Re-Vamped wouldn't be too confusing?

chucks888 02-27-04 02:41 PM

If WB had the balls the should just simply name it:

Batman

does anyone know what kind of rating Nolan is going for? I'd prefer a dark movie thats R but, as long as its not too flashy, Im fine.

Groucho 02-27-04 02:47 PM

No way this will be rated R. I predict PG-13. I also predict a multi-page thread whining about that rating.

jaeufraser 02-27-04 02:51 PM

Yes, this will be a pg-13 film. Probably as hard a pg-13 as you can get, but with such a huge franchise name, 150 million production, you better believe this will be pg-13.

Not the mention...this film can be made great without being an R. Unlike say...The Punisher.

Goyer said that it'll be PG-13 material. Honestly, you don't need an R rating to tell a good Batman story.

Bad, bad title.

jaeufraser 03-03-04 08:35 PM

Ok, this movie's cast is incredible. Apparently Jim Gordon will be played by none other than...Gary Oldman! Man, I can't wait for this film. Nolan, good script, and a cast to die for. I guess we can see now where some of that 150 mil is going though.

fumanstan 03-03-04 08:47 PM

I like Oldman, although i can't really picture him as Jim Gordon. Dennis Quaid or Kurt Russell seems to fit the mold more to me, but i trust Nolan here.

LivingINClip 03-03-04 10:15 PM

Gary OLdman?
Much better choice than Dennis or Kurt.
Bravo!

beefjerky 03-03-04 11:21 PM

I can just imagine his performance.

Uh, hello Batman? Yeah, we got a lil problem.

Great choices so far.
Has mob Boss Carmine Falcone been cast yet?

I thought I read somewhere he was in the script.
I think Franco Nero would be an excellent Falcone.

Lethal Nemesis 03-05-04 04:25 AM

They shouldn't even use a written title. Just use Batman's symbol. Says it all. :D

http://www.jeje.nu/batman/logo.jpg

Of course, it would then have to be referred to as "the new Batman movie."

or "The Movie Formerly Known as Batman: Intimidation Game"

I would rather have seen Dennis, Chris Cooper, or even Kevin Spacey as Gordon.

Gary Oldman reminds me of too much of DeNiro, Pacino, and Nicholson- supposedly great actors who always seem to be the giving the same schtick.
Leon the professional to Fifth Element To Air Force One.
i don't see a whole lot of range there, and i also don't see Jim Gordon.

the cast has now become too saturated with 'names'.
its gone around the bend from being "wow, this could be interesting" to "wow, superhero movies are going to become the turn-of-the-century equivilent of a '70s all star disaster movie...or love boat episode"

I couldn't disagree with you more.
Perhaps his performances on those few films you note are somewhat similar, but
you really should check out some more of his performances in other films!

Sid & Nancy
Immortal Beloved
True Romance
Basquiat
State of Grace
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead
Romeo Is Bleeding
and of course
Lost In Space ;)

Hokeyboy 03-05-04 09:49 AM

Any room in this cast for Beyonce?
