Ron Howard's The Missing

Searched and didnt' find a thread on this one . . . .

Coming out at Thanksgiving. Big name cast with Cate Blanchett and Tommy Lee Jones. Big name director with Ron Howard.

Personally, I love the trailer they showed before Master & Commander. It's sufficiently creepy.

Will Cate Blanchett be as good as people say? Could this be better than Howard's A Beautiful Mind?

Is Tommy Lee Jones doggedly persuing this missing person? It just doesn't seem right if Tommy Lee Jones is in a movie where he isn't doggedly pursuing somebody.

Honk!

The presence of Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett already makes it better than A Beautiful Mind.

Well, he won't be able to do a hard target search at every gas station since they didn't exist yet. Residences, dog houses, hen houses, warehouses, and outhouses are still fair game for the period.

I think it looks great - it looks darker than the usual Ron Howard pic.

Oh, and it has the beautiful Cate Blanchett - they doesn't hurt it either.

I too am glad to see a non-Fugitive Tommy Lee Jones. Rather refreshing.

I have liked Tommy Lee Jones films in the past, but this film for some reason, just doesn't cut it for me.

This should be pretty good, plus, you're right, it is really nice to see Tommy Lee Jones in a movie where he isn't searching through outhouses, restaurants, stores,... looking for a fugitive.

The review doesn't seem negative, just that the movie doesn't stay with you after you leave the theater. Definitely doesn't sound like an Oscar contender in the slightest, nor look it.

That's okay with me. The searchers is awesome and if Howard can do homage like Todd Haynes did with Far From Heaven, it'll be excelelnt.

That review is blah, but admittedly more negative than most Hollywood Reporter reviews.

even more reason to see it -- looks like it'll be the first flick to have the Hellboy trailer attached to it.

I'm looking forward to this.

It didn't look that interesting from the TV spots but the full trailer really got my attention.

Hmm..

Hellboy trailer? Check!
Tommy lee Jones? Check!
The beyond gorgeous Cate Blanchett? Check!

Count me in....
And no, I don't know what my fasincation is with Cate, but she is one of the hottest women in Holywood at this present time. She has a certain quality. Reminds me of the women from the older era's, circa 50's & 60's. Innocent and charming....Yeah, enough ranting about my not so private obsession with Cate.

Don't really want to see The Missing. But, I NEED to see the Hellboy trailer. Anyone know when it'll have a nice online Quicktime presentation?
