I think the fact that nobody foresaw Passion being as big as it was combined with the comic gold of Wilson and Stiller prevents Hidalgo from having a legit chance. I would have delayed it another week.

I'm not sure Wilson and Stiller are a sure-fire draw. I looked at Box Office Mojo, and Zoolander only made $15 million in its opening weekend. I know I'll see S&H, but why are we expecting it to be so big?

But I don't think Owen Wilson was particularly marketed as being in Zoolander.

True, but Zoolander has since gained a cult like following and most of its admirers point to the duo of Stiller and Wilson as the reason for their liking it so much. Also, unlike typical screwball comediens (sp?), this duo seems to appeal to people with a more sophisticated sense of humor in addition to the low brows.

Zoolander came out Sept. 28, 2001, just days after The World Trade Center disaster.
