Matrix Timeline
No, not a combination of the two movies...
In anticipation of Matrix Revolutions, we were going to watch the Matrix movies in order, including Animatrix. So does anyone have a suggested viewing order? As in, where do the 9 Animatrix shorts fall in regards to the 2 movies? Is it simply Matrix, Animatrix, Reloaded? Or is there some before Matrix, between, etc.? I know Osiris goes before Reloaded, but any other thoughts? Thanks.

I would say yes Giantrobo, because the Wachowski's wrote a few of the shorts for the Animatrix. They have some great backstory for the Matrix films, including the origin of the Kid from Reloaded.

Now, I just saw Animatrix for the 1st time last week(bought the dvd/cd set) which "kid" are you talking about? The skateboarding kid in Animatrix? Is he the same one in Reloaded who kept following Neo around?

And what happens during Reloaded as well. There are some pretty good scenes(Persephone and Niobe immediately springs to mind)that do a good job of filling in any gaps in the movie.

Too bad the game outright blows. but fortunately, it sounds like they want to make the triple DVD release have the video game footage accesible. Read Joel Silver's interview over at chud.com, he makes mention of that. So...i'll wait for that.

If you have a DVD-ROM, you can just rip the footage from the Enter the Matrix DVD. Given you're playing the PS2 version. Maybe the XBox version too. No chance for GameCube. You could w/ the PC version too.

wouldn't it be ...
"The Second Rennaisance pt 1 and 2"
"Detective Story"
"The Matrix"
"Beyond"
"World Record"
"Martriculated"
"Kid's Story"
"Program"
"Final Flight of Orisis"
"Matrix Reloaded"
"Matrix Revolutions"
just my thoughts though, "Beyond", "World Record"
and "Martriculated" could fit in anywhere between "Matrix" & "Reloaded"
