Sometimes that's true. But I don't think that was the case with young Pacino and young DeNiro and other great actors. That's one of the things that seperates great actors from average actors. They bring that extra something that makes them stars.

Bill Simmons from ESPN's Page 2 wrote an entire column about this. I'd have to go with Al Pacino. He was amazing in the first two Godfathers, and frankily, I've enjoyed his transformation into the raving madman character he plays in every movie now. Just watching him chew up the scenery in Heat was a blast.

She's got a... GREAT ASS!!! And you got your head ALL THE WAY UP IT!!!

Here's one thing: I can see DeNiro pulling off most of Pacino's roles, but I really can't see Pacino pulling off most of DeNiro's roles too well - could you imagine Pacino as LaMotta in Raging Bull?

Pacino is my favorite actor and DeNiro is number 2.

I just don't see how you can possibly top the Godfather I & II, Dog Day Afternoon and Scarface combo. DeNiro has been consistently better than Pacino, but he hasn't reached quite the highs Al did. Their output recently has been questionable which makes me a little sad, but then we've always got Heat to look back on fondly

Bill Simmons' article from ESPN on De Niro vs. Pacino (see post #24).

Pacino. He commands the screen like no other. He locks you in the moment he steps in.

They both played the devil.
And DeNeiro's is more believeable and evil.
Where as Al is more entertaining and cartoonish

Pacino definitely! Better actor and overall better movies in the long run. Both are great but Pacino is the god of acting

Di Nero

Seems to be more diverse than Pacino.
