All I know is that online ticketing is not available at the theater I would be going to. I have to find someone to stand in line and buy tix while I'm at work.
|
I was planning on going to the Block in Orange, but it is also finals week. So I'll probably try to attend a midnight showing of RotK and watch the other two when they are released weeks before.
|
Do you guys think the single showings of each EE will sell out before hand or do you think any will be available during the weekly run? I know they won't sell out as fast as the marathon, if it sells out at all, but I imagine the EE's would sell out before hand. Just wanted your thoughts, because if I can't buy tickets to the marathon, I definitely want to get tickets to see the individual EE's. Just curious...

A friend in Grand Rapids, MI just told me that their theater (Celebration Cinema 17) is charging $45.
What a rip-off. One movie is a matinee show and is 2 years old, the other is a year old. That's not worth $15 a film. When you're checking on prices at your local theater, check and see if they have any intermission giveaways planned. When Showcase Cinemas opened their Flint location, they had a Star Trek marathon (the first 5 or 6 films), and they had contests and giveaways during the intermissions. |
Point Cinema in Madison, WI is charging $30. Tickets go on sale at 12:00pm on Oct 9th

anyone know yet about the senator and does anyone have a phone number to call to speak to an acutall person instead of a computer? (and how bad can I expect a line)
|
Senator
The phone number to speak with an actual human at the Senator in Baltimore, MD is:
410.435.9892 That is the lobby number. I haven't called them back this morning yet. If you find out any new info, please let me know. Thanks! |
just called. They either go on sale sat. or monday but won't know any information until tomorrow.
|
I have a meeting tomorrow at 10am so I won't be able to leave to the Twin Cities until after that. Sure hope they're not sold out by the time I get there :(
I'll only be an hour late...but I'm guessing these are all going to go faaaaast. |
Originally posted by Jepthah I think it's going to be just fine and dandy at the Arclight Jack. They update their website regularly and I had absolutely zero problems buying for the first TTT showings last year over the 'net. By contrast, the Bridge Cinemas (the other reserved seating theater in the LA area) had a useless and confusing website and were real 'tards on the phone. I'm not worried, but then again, I'm not going to the 3-movie epic marathon. ;) |
Originally posted by Peep My big worry about the Arclight is parking. Where do you park for the marathon? The streets all have 2-hour meters and the parking garage is not cheap. Everyone, this page might be very useful to you: http://www.theonering.net/features/n...y_tuesday.html |
If they don't, I have good news. From the ArcLight website: ArcLight is directly adjacent to a seven-level parking garage. Self-park entrances are off Ivar to the west, DeLongpre to the south and off Sunset, just east of the Cinerama Dome. ArcLight offers validation for 4 hours of free parking with purchase of a movie ticket, and for 1 hour with purchase in the café bar or gift shop, with a maximum of 4 hours free. Regular rates apply after validation period with a maximum of $4.00 per visit.

Just called Showcase Springdale in Ohio. They know nothing. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. He said they will probably be on sale online, but he's not sure. He didn't know showtimes, ticket costs, or how they're selling tickets.
Great. |
Originally posted by Jepthah They are including a validation in the price, I think. Everyone, this page might be very useful to you: http://www.theonering.net/features/n...y_tuesday.html $22 a ticket and a $10 refreshement voucher. $32 bucks isn't that bad, imo. Online tickets go on sale at 9 A.M., which is sweet because I didn't know that they would do that for sure, and the box office opens at NOON. A poster on theonering.net says that they are going to post instructions on the door for people who camp out - that should be interesting... Has anyone heard how many tickets that they are going to limit per customer? They are going to have to or people who get left out really will go "orc-shit". |
Cineplex Odeon Uptown in Washington, DC
Tickets go onsale tomorrow at the box office only @ 12pm. There is a 4 ticket per person maximum Tickets are $26.25 a person Max capacity is 840 For more info and to talk to real live person call: 202-966-8805 |

You know what I don't like about the way films are viewed now a days.. the lines. I've always been against the whole star wars lines for situations like these. Lets put it this way, I'm not die hard enough to wait in line for 24+ hours to get tickets. It really bugs me when you think about it. You carry your daily life. you don't have the ability for one reason or another to camp out in line and you run the risk of not making it to the show. The whole countdown.com type of lines really bug me. This is a one day only showing. pretty much breaking down to an average of 2 theaters per state. Now of course the people in the know will have the advantage and above those folks, the people who have a lot of free time on their hands have a bigger advantage. When did this get this way exactly?
just a rant. |
Originally posted by Corvin Chicago is getting ripped off! One stinking theater?! |
Originally posted by Flashback AMC River East 21 stinks? I have no problem with it at all-which one would you rather see it in? Even though I live a block away I have no desire to sit through all of the movies. |
Originally posted by Peep Corvin probably means that it stinks that there is only one theatre, not that the theatre in question stinks. ...or maybe I'm just over-estimating the nerdiness of Chicago. |
I hear you Corvin. 100 theaters in the U.S. are running this. so far as we know it in one theater for each location. that is a small room for something that has the potential to be high in demand.

Originally posted by JestersTear That's how it is for all Showcase Cinema locations. I just called the Flint MI one, and the manager said she finally called the office, and they told her that she'd be getting the information tomorrow afternoon. |
Woo-Hoo! Got mine!
FYI - Trilogy tix are now available (as of at least 6am) through Fandango for the Regal Short Pump 14 cinema in Richmond, VA.
urgh, staying up past 12am & then getting up before 6am has proven ugly, but it will be worth it (at least to my mind, my butt might have a different opinion on Dec 16). Showtimes at the Short Pump 14 will be 2pm, 6pm, and 10pm. Tix cost $35.00 +$1.00 Fandango service fee. The price kinda sucks for three movies, but, works out to be around only $3.00/hour, which isn't too bad for a once-in-a-lifetime-method-of-getting-a-sore-behind. I dunno about availability for other theaters or even other shows at the SP14. (UPDATE: you can apparently also buy tix for the EE's as well as the trilogy for the Sp14. The Loews Uptown in DC which also uses Fandango doesn't have anything available yet, which supports the info of a previous post. Also, the AMC Town Center 24 in Hampton, VA sells theirs through movietickets.com and they are not available yet.) Good luck all!!! Jackskeleton - Yeah, I agree with several of your statements. At least the internet thing helps out tremendously. I know that if it weren't for the net, I would not have been able to see the marathon. Heck, if it hadn't been for the net I would not have even known about this. But now comes the line to try and get a good seat...ick. |
