is it wrong or bad that ive never seen these movies...

scarface & godfather (any of them)

eedoon 10-02-03 04:18 AM

Well, I haven't seen any Kurosawa movies.... :o

Joel 10-02-03 05:11 AM

If you consider yourself as an Al Pacino fans, or as a mafia movie fans .. then try seeing those movies you mentioned asap.

I've seen Scarface, a long long time ago it doesn't stick in my memory. And the only Godfather I've seen is the third. But I am not feeling bad because of it, cause basically I'm just not into mafia movies.

DeputyDave 10-02-03 05:23 AM

Yes it's bad, now go spank yourself.

matome 10-02-03 07:45 AM

Never seen Godfather either.

PixyJunket 10-02-03 07:59 AM

That's okay, I'll watch em again for you.

elias 10-02-03 08:19 AM

You are all wrong and bad!

shill66 10-02-03 09:55 AM

Neither have I. And I have no desire to, either.

atari2600 10-02-03 11:36 AM

It's not bad that you've never seen them. They're films, they're not your children or anything...

If you feel like watching them, watch them. No-one's making you sway one or the other.

Hmm, that one's tricky. Akira Kurasawa (SP?) was an incredibly influential and prolific director, not to mention how incredibly talented he was. Many modern filmmakers grew up watching his films, and a good few films you know might actually be BASED (totally, or in part) on Kurasawa's.

He's just a guy you're "supposed to know". Again, though - they're just films.

gmal2003 10-02-03 11:52 AM

I didn't like Scarface.

ToddSm66 10-02-03 12:13 PM

Watch the first two Godfather movies...skip Godfather 3 and Scarface.

Hokeyboy 10-02-03 12:24 PM

People who haven't seen Kurosawa films are worse than Hitler.

You meant to write Riefenstahl, didn't you? :)

And since we are all confessing:

Hello, my name is ___, I am a cinemaholic. It's been 3 days since I've watched an Art House film...

Just for clarity, Scarface isn't a mafia movie.

indycohiba 10-02-03 09:45 PM

Yes for Godfather! I did not like Scarface.

Probably the simplest, most straight forward post I've ever read.

BTW, it's not bad that you haven't seen them.

atari2600 10-03-03 12:50 AM

You must not be a gangsta rapper then.

P.S.-Yes, it's bad that you haven't seen them. *Jules spanks atari.*

wmansir 10-03-03 05:21 AM

I had never heard of Kurosawa either, until I caught some of Yojimbo on a movie channel late one night about 3 years ago.

Now I own every one of his movies put out on DVD.

johnglass 10-03-03 11:49 AM

For those who keep saying "I don't like Mafia movies", these films aren't exactly niche films, where you need to like the theme to enjoy the movie. There is a lot more to the Godfather movies than just the fact that they're Mafia movies- they also contain fantastic writing, acting, cinematography, etc.

DGibFen 10-03-03 12:22 PM

It's Ok. I just watched both Godfather I+II only a year ago, and waited till this week so I could watch Scarface in its OAR.

The Godfather movies are pretty good in their own right, but its nothing I'd want to subject myself to again (I get tired of overly-violent movies).

The Godfather movies are pretty mild in comparison to Scarface.
