Count me in as well, looks action packed!

OK seriously, is there ANY actor alive better than Johnny Depp. I mean, I can't even see many in the same category. He looks absolutely awesom in this movie, & look at this character compared to Jack Sparrow, compared to Gilbert Grape, compared to Donnie Brasco, compared to Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, compared to Sleepy Hollow compared to Benny & Joon, etc etc, etc. The guy is so diverse it's insane, & he is convinving & brilliant in every single role, even if the movie is not up to par. I cannot wait for this movie.

I'm just curious, anyone know why this movie was held for 2 years? Usually a bad sign, but dammit this flick looks like fun. (Was finished in 2001 apparently... I can understand why it wouldn't be released in late 2001 or early 2002.. Summer 2002 somewhat understandable.. but Fall 2003? Seems like a stretch.)
Most creative looking action flick this year..and also the lowest budgetted ($30m) |
RichC2,
Apparently the test screenings haven't gone so well since test audiences found the film incoherent. Although a few people blame that on the version screened not having English subtitles since a huge chunk of the movie is reportedly in Spanish. Also Robert Rodriguez has been reported to be experimenting a lot with what he can do in this movie since he wants to push the limits of what can be accomplished in HD. I forone will keep an open mind until I finally see the movie. I've wanted another Mariachi so bad that no one (Enrique Iglesias) and nothing (bad word of mouth) will keep me from seing it. I just hope that since the film was shot on video that the DVD feature removable English subtitles since I wish the ones present in Desperado weren't there (I personally find them obtrusive since Spanish is my first language). |

Originally posted by Groucho I don't know if you've seen any of the Spy Kids movies, but they are great regardless of your age. Man this trailer also took me by surprise, and it looks HOT. I love the Juno Reactor song they used in the 2nd half of the trailer, I love that song and it's perfect for this movie. I am now officially excited. |

I think Antonio needs this film to be a hit. Spy Kids was a hit, but he can't do kids movies forever.

Watching that preview made me feel like a giddy little school girl. Since I'm a guy, that's kinda wierd.

 Dudikoff, I know what you mean man.

I can't wait for this movie!

I read that he shot this movie a while ago but didn't edit it until after Spy Kids 3 was finished (he wanted to make all 3 before the kids got too old). Thats supposed to be the reason it took so long to come out.

wow, looks great. I thought Danny Trejo's character died in Desperado. Count me in for any movie that has Enrique Iglesias and Willem Dafoe in it!
|
So did Cheech Marin but they are playing different characters (continuing the gag featured in From Dusk Till Dawn). Dafoe as a Mexican. :D
|
That has got to be one of the most BAD A$$ posters I've seen in a long, long time!
|
for some reason, depp reminds me of brandon lee in the crow.... must be the long hair and that eye makeup in the preview.
|
Would it be wrong if I stated that all 3 leads are SMOKIN hot in that trailer?
|
We've seen you dressed as blue mary.. so It wouldn't surprise us if you found all three "smokin". ;)
|
Jack.. shoot me an e-mail or AIM me. I'll send you the script. Plus I got the View Askew figures (and some others) from Comic Con, too, if you wanted them.
|
Actually "Once Upon A Time In MEXICO" is actually Part 4... Rodriguez mentioned it in an interview that "Once..." will have FLASHBACKS showing scenes from part 3, that was not a complete movie... I'll get the website from my friend, and posted later.
|
Say wha? part 4? What happened to 3?
