Sept. 5-7 Pretty lame weekend for movies.
Here's what's coming out:
9.5:
dickie roberts: former child star
the order
and in limited release:
carnage
home room (limited release)
party monster
shaolin soccer
taking sides
zero day
The order?
Because I was really waiting for the young stars of a knights tale to reunite in a movie.
Time to catch up on those dvds this weekend!
EEEEK!

I"m down with Dickie. And Shaolin Soccer is pretty good too, but beware the subtitles. And it's probably so quiet because of the first real weekend of college football and NFL opening day.

Late August and early September are traditionally slow as far as movie attendence, so I'm really disappointed that Miramax, after stalling for nearly two years, is dumping Shaolin Soccer now. Of course, they may have screwed around with it so much that they realize they ruined it - hope I'm wrong, because this is a fun movie in its original form.

Anyway, looking at this thread I seem to REALLY be in the minority here. I haven't been to the movies in weeks b/c of all the crap that has been out. But this weekend I'm actually going again. I'm looking forward to The Order. I'm probably the only person that wants to see this just b/c Peter Weller is in it. One of the most underrated actors ever IMO.

I'll probably end up catching The Order.

Shaolin Soccer was a very cool movie if you haven't seen it, but then again most interested in it probably have seen it by now thanks to the Miramax delay.
I actually somewhat enjoyed Joe Dirt, although I don't own the DVD, but am not expecting much from Dickie Roberts.
I'll ring in and say the order looks somewhat interesting though. It is a Knight's Tale reunion, but I think it might be something I'd like.
