Least PREDICTABLE Romantic Comedy ?

My gf and i watched a few Romantic comedies over the weekend

How to lose a guy in 10 days
A guy thing
Maid in Manhattan

all pretty decent films but all as predictable as hell

are there any Romantic comedies which aren't predictable ?

and i guess i mean post say 85 romantic comedies, the new wave since Pretty Woman

I agree with KITK in that Chasing Amy is the least predictable.

How about Greencard?

Spoiler:
Gerard Depardieu is deported in the end instead of the typical happy ending.

Only if, by "least predictable," you mean "loses all semblance of sense and sanity in the final third."

Here's another vote for CHASING AMY - a fresh spin on the whole genre.

Well, whatever you call it, it was unpredictable.

The mother of them all: Annie Hall. Other Woody Allen films could also be recommended, such as The Purple Rose of Cairo, Hannah And Her Sisters, Manhattan, etc.

Also, Chasing Amy and Punch Drunk Love are both great.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Spoiler:
Granted, the title sort of gives it away I guess. But I really thought Julia Roberts would end up getting the guy, turns out he marries Cameron Diaz like originally planned

Also, Sliding Doors

Spoiler:
With Gwyneth Paltrow. A really neat plot. It's about a women who's live-in boyfriend cheats on her. The movie is showing her life in two different ways. One - if she would have caught him, then tried to move on with her live, and eventually meeting the man of her dreams. Second - not catching him, being hurt all the time cause the way he treats her, founding out she's pregnant, but not being able to tell him. The twist is at the end. With the life that she meets the man of her dreams, she ends up dying. With the life that she lives miserably with her cheating boyfriend, she ends up finding out at the end, getting hurt, ended up in the hospital but lives. So the whole time you're loving this life of hers where she's found out and is moving on and meets the man of her dreams, but in that life she dies. Anyway, hope that makes sense. If not, rent it!

There is a final twist which I, of course, won't give away but
Spoiler:
it provides a happy ending after all. "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition."

That's a perfect ending for the story and fits in with everything else. I'm a big fan of this movie.

If your definition of 'unpredictable' is the same as my definition of 'unrealistic' then I agree.

I'll put up Virtual Sexuality - great romantic comedy... kinda unpredictable. Repli-Kate wasn't bad either.

Sliding Doors, very unpredictable, very good. I'll second that choice.

Two Weeks Notice was predictable, I guess.

But I didn't predict I was going to like it. Haha!
