Freddy vs Jason vs. . . Ash?!?

A tidbit from Creature Corner for your amusment:

Reliable sources have revealed that one of the current ideas being tossed around includes a scenario where Freddy and Jason would team-up against a common enemy: Bruce Campbell as Ash from the "Evil Dead" films. As crazy as it might sound, this concept has apparently been met with a great deal of enthusiasm in the upper-echelons of New Line Cinema. (Not to mention the degrees of separation: "FvsJ" producer Sean S. Cunningham directed Campbell in last years "Terminal Invasion" for the SciFi Channel.)
Man, I dont know. As much as I dig Ash, I cant see him standing up againt these two powerhouses. That would be a first rate asswhuppin' for our favorite Deadite killer. I'd still pay big money to see it, but the odds are long against Ash.

It could happen. Bruce Campbell will act in anything. He was even in that crappy From Dusk Till Dawn sequel.

It's just a very WILD rumor right now. But I think it's a great idea. Ash is one of those characters that has become so much more popular over the years. And with asbolutely no chance of another Evil Dead movie (at least by Raimi), it's probably the only way it could make sense to see the character return. If F vs J doesn't bomb, then you have the fans of those to characters seeing this potential movie, new fans of F vs J seeing the movie, & the fairly large cult Campbell nuts also seeing the movie. It's really not a bad idea.

I think that sounds interesting. I would think Bruce would be incredibly willing to do a movie like this especially since it will be released in the theatre.

Eh. I don't much care for the idea. doesn't seem like it would fit logically. How long can ash really last against the two?

This is a wonderful idea. All these cross-over ideas floating around(ie. Aliens vs. Predator) need to get noticed by the producers.

I'm sure Bruce would do it, but that doesn't necessarily make it a good idea.

Actually, according to this week's Entertainment Weekly (which has a three or four page preview of Jason vs. Freddy), the guy who holds the rights to the Michael Myers character has already approached New Line about doing a 3-way, should J vs. F go over well. I would expect to see this FAR, FAR before seeing Ash involved.

In other words, I wouldn't count on it...

No way in hell is this happening. But I'm astounded that it's even being considered.

Freddy and Jason are New Line. Ash is a Universal property. I don't see it happening.

Rewatch, the ED trilogy again. Especially in the first one, Ash shouldn't have lasted five minutes against the deadites. Come on, he's a science dork with science books in the trunk of his car and he works at a department store. He'd clean F and J's clocks.

Ugh. I hate the Evil Dead movie's and I hate Bruce Campell even more. I love the Nightmare on Elm Street movies and I love the Friday the 13th movies. I however, would not see this. Nope. You could not even pay me to see it. It doesn't make any logical sense on how it could happen (story wise) and it's just a bad idea in general. No, I take that back, it's a terrible idea...A terrible, TERRIBLE idea.

I would rather see "Pinhead" get involved in a Freddy/Jason fight before Mike Myers. Myers was always a guy, not a supernatural force like the other three, so it would make more logical sense for the super-beings to sqaure off.

myers is more of a force of nature than jason. jason always had to come back to life, michael always escaped at the end of his movies. jason got his butt handed to him in part 7 by the telekinetic chic.

No kidding. I disliked Myers of all the choices of Monsters. he just seemed crazy with no real powers.

I would love to see ASH involved...that would be incredible...

Also, in addition to Myers, which would be OK, I'd love to see CHUCKY (who is currently searching for a new home, since Universal doesn't seem to be in the mood to make another child's play flick) or even CANDYMAN... that could be pretty wicked...

but if Ash did make his way to camp crystal lake, I'd be there, ready for some boomstick action.

Shop smart, shop s-mart....

MATT

I hope FvsJ makes hundreds of millions of dollars

New Line Cinema now has Leatherface as well, what with the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie.

What I'd really like to see is Pinhead vs Phantasm's Tall Man.
Cube vs sphere!

I say we just get all the good guys and all the bad guys in one movie and have one huge royal rumble.
