Secondhand Lions (9/26): Trailer and Site inside

The Link to the Trailer

The Link to the Site

Starring Michael Caine, Robert Duvall and Halley Joel Osment... looks like the feel-good Fall flicks are back.

Rumors are that the trailer for the last LOTR film will be attached to this movie.

I saw the trailer before Pirates...doesn't look like anything special to me.

I saw it then, too, and I actually think it looks pretty good. I'll probably go just to see Duvall and Caine in action.

I think the movie looks pretty good. I don't know if I'll actually get to watch it in the theater or not, but it looks like a feel-good movie and has 3 very good actors starring in it.

Here's Ebert's 3-star review: here.

At first, I didn't think much of this (the initial trailer didn't do much for me). But after seeing the most recent trailer and reading the (mostly positive) reviews, I'm giving this one a second thought.

Anyone plan on seeing this over the weekend?

Mod Note: Might want to change thread title to 9/19, since it opened a week earlier.

Overall, I enjoyed this film because of the characters, and the tales they tell. If the trailer interested you, then the film will live up to your expectations. I did think the first 20 minutes were a little dour, but once it picks up steam, it's a very enjoyable film.

I give it 3.25 stars or a grade of B+.

Great family film. I swear Robert Duvall just gets better with age.
First he did a great turn in Open Range, and then this.

3 out of 4
