Great, thanks for the "you're in for a rollercoaster" season statement.

Come to think of it, the one thing that continually bugs me are Danny and Zoe's reactions to Tom's action. They are too inconsistent. One minute they are mad at him and then the next they are sympathizing with him. One minute they want to throw him in jail, the next they are welcoming him back like nothing happened.

Plus whoever said the acting on this show is wooden - no clue what they're talking about.

At least I like the new character Adam. He seems to fit in nicely.

Geez! Does this show ever not rip your heart out, throw it on the ground and step on it? I just finished the "trial" episode and totally didn't see the ending coming. I couldn't believe what was happening given the events that already transpired earlier in the seasons.

My only hope is that everything is one big setup and hoax to lure the really bad guys off the trail, but then I think I'd feel cheated and all of the heart-wrenching events would be diminished....

Hmm...I've got nothing. The finale is a doozey, though.

I felt like that was built up a bit much. Kept thinking something larger was going to happen with episode 9 feeding into episode 10.

Obviously I'm very upset over the big surprise in the episode - way underused. I was expecting them to go through with number 2 - that would have been perhaps too brutal to even see - on part with the deepfryer incident in series 1. It will be interesting to see where series 4 goes - no word on street date though, so it looks like I'll be waiting a while.

All-in-all I think the overall season was better for 3, but I felt like the finale was much better for 2.

Would appreciate some discussion without spoilers for series 4. However, I'm have a feeling there is less spoiler material for 4 than there was for 3.

Well, it'd be easier if you made comments on a per episode basis, that might stir up some comments, but as it is, it's been over a year since I've seen season 3, so I only remember the big stuff, not the per episode stuff all that clearly.

Season 4 is also pretty good, and it ends in a doozy as well. Those Brits really know how to do cliffhangers.

Well I didn't see the season 3 ender as a cliffhanger. Only thing that mildly stuck out was Harry having a conversation at the end of the episode away from Ruth and he had a quizical look on his face, but the view never received any information about the information exchange.

I'll have to see how the 4th season plays out. I think it could go in several different directions. I hope Fiona ends up leaving (think it would have been good if she had of died instead of Danny - or both). I don't dislike the actress, but the character gets to me. Perhaps she'll end up changing due to her near-death experience. You could see she was rattled. Plus Adam had called it earlier saying "this job will get you killed" (believe he was referring to 6, not 5). I also feel like she drags Adam down from being the "reckless canon" that he was purported to be.

Wow! I just finished watching season four over the course of about 3 days. This show is amazing! And what a season finale! It totally blew me away. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but I was wondering when season 5 is going to start airing. Does anyone know? Thanks.

was thinking about getting into this show...are the episodes of the self contained variety or do they have season long arcs as well? is it based in realism for the most part or do they get into some over the top and outlandish stuff ala Alias and 24?

IThis show is blows Alias out of the water because it doesn't have those ridiculous plot holes, logical leaps of faith, and is realistic (IE no evil clones, prophesies). The acting and production values are top notch, every episode feels like it is a movie.
What I love best about this show is that there is no really distinct black and white good/bad guys. There is a lot of grayness when it comes to who is good and bad, especially in Season 3. I also love the fact that they operate in a post 9/11 world, and the ramifications of it affect the show's plots a lot.

The shows are for the most part episodic but they affect each episode, characters grow and change and come and go.

If you like shows like the Shield, Battlestar Galactica, Alias, 24, Sopranos, you will probably love this show.

Series 2's finale was even more intense, and better. One of my favorite cliffhangers.

thanks!
Well my interpretation was that

Spoiler:
The Brits knew damn well she was going to Florida and just lied to her to get the info they wanted. I don't think MI-5 are at all above lying to get what they want. I think that on principle they were against the death penalty but not that bothered. After all they let someone else go to jail for Zoe which is very underhanded

Is A&E getting their act together, or are we SOL? I believe series 5 is starting over there this week.

MI-5 Season 4 Premier 9/15 - "The Special"

Well I thought it was a pretty good premier. Manages to get you back into the swing of things not too long after season 3 clsoed. I have a feeling a lot of Ruth scenes were cut, which is fine by me because I'm not a big fan of hers.

I wish we'd see more of the MI-6 head, but since he's coming up with crazy ways to save people, I doubt it.

I really felt like they kicked off season 3 with a theme of "thread from within", and you saw glimpses of that, but then it seemed to fall flat. I hope this is a longer theme they will build on and that it wasn't just a method to start more "mole" chases. Speaking of which, I feel like they are setting up the new lady for that role, but we'll have to see.

Is Fiona gone for good? Backseat cause of the "addition"?

Name is escaping me at the moment, but the new young guy isn't too bad right now. He does seem very novice though.

Two weeks on and now it's back when?....

Come on, the season is already in the bag! Wasn't on this week and it may not be on next week ...
