What's your favorite Evil Dead Movie?

Hey, I didn't think there had been enough polls lately so I decided to post this one.

Anyway, Army Of Darkness is my favorite. The first one was good because it didn't take it self too seriously and the second was good because it was pretty much like the first except it was much more gorier. And Army was great just becaues it was a comedy.

Are you sure you're not confusing parts 1 and 2? Evil Dead 1 takes itself much more seriously than the other two, and is ten times gorier than Evil Dead 2.

The original is still the best, IMO.

Shouldn't the poll include both versions of Army of Darkness?

What the hell is Evil Dead: Book of the Dead? Is that supposed to mean it's the "widescreen" edition of the film? Where's Evil Dead: Elite Collector's Edition with the full frame transfer of the film?

And I agree with Doughboy, there should be a choice for both versions of Army of Darkness. The American cut is a much faster paced film, but I prefer the international cut (director's cut/bootleg cut/whatever) with the alternate ending and additional footage (I hate the American ending, but I hate how the "Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun." line is gone).

no actually I'm referring to this http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...6739?vi=glance

but maybe I should have just listed it as Evil Dead to clear it up for you

and as far as that goes, why are you asking about different versions of the dvd as this is located in the movie forum.

The first one is my favorite.

I like II and III, but not as good as the first because they hold more camp value than terror - where the original was a true low-budget horror flick.

You're the one who called it Evil Dead: Book of the Dead when the film is simply just called The Evil Dead. The Book of the Dead is just the (newer) Anchor Bay DVD inside the "Book of the Dead."

I like II and III, but not as good as the first because they hold more camp value than terror - where the original was a true low-budget horror flick.
While I agree with your statement, the problem I have with the first one is that there are scenes meant to be taken seriously that shouldn't be (tree rape anybody?). This is why I prefer the second (and third) as they're just great campy fun that isn't meant to be taken seriously. I also find that the first one doesn't have that much of a rewatch factor as the sequels do.
