Best year-top-grossing film of the '90s?

Thought it'd be interesting, as most of these films are well-liked.

I voted for T2, but Toy Story was a close second.

I didn't realize Aladdin topped the yearly box office. Anyway, for sentimental reasons, it gets my vote.

Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks is truly the best actor of the decade.

I voted for T2, I am suprised Home Alone didn't get any votes (so far), I thought the movie was excellent, the sequels and everyone turning on the mac probably made everyone hate it though, well then again there are probably a couple other movies I would also vote over it, alright nm I guess I just have a lot of memories of it and wish it would get some votes

While T2 is a great movie, it still doesn't beat a great story and visuals of Saving Private Ryan, which is based on a true story. I think a lot of these movies work on many different levels. But if I had to pick one it'd be Saving Private Ryan.

I love Home Alone. It's really a fun movie that everyone's seen and enjoyed, although like you say, time and Macaulay can make people turn on the film. In fact, when you think about Macaulay's films from the decade where he was churning out like 4 pictures a year, they might become a blur and people may forget that Home Alone is one of the few good ones he actually made, and of course, the one that MADE him.

I think Episode one made more money than Matrix. Come to think of it, it made waaaaay more money.

I voted Titanic, though T2 was my instinct. I love both movies, and even Forrest Gump, but Cameron is my main man at directing, so I chose his colossal achievement.

(T2 was my first ever video purchase, along with Silence of the Lambs at the request of my mother, and Last Crusade I believe....)

Jurrasic Park I still love, though I missed the opening night screening of it, cause it was sold out. Saw Hot Shots Part Deux instead.

ID4 hasn't held up at all since I saw it in the theaters. Back then, when I was, what 16, there was the total wow factor. Now, it's a slop of a mess, with some great special effects. I like Toy Story 2 more than the original, which is too slow and dark for me. Saving Private Ryan was an insult to me, though it did have its perks.... Everything else - who cares?

This list is almost a better representation of the 90's than the 10 films that won best picture.

Agreed, Oscars do not mean a thing. It does not mean it is the best picture of the year, it just means some people who have lost touch with normal people vote to say it is the best movie of that year.
