I'm surprise there hasn't been any mention of this but, are Cerina Vincent's scenes even worth the price of admission????

Oh horror, no horror or story. Merely a jitter of directions and incongruent thoughts in a feeble attempt to create something called a film. 1/10

It beats me... Am I wrong with what was said, that it was spring break? In the fall?

Horror - Introduction attempted to build it, characters seemed to mean it, story (?) failed to seal it, and director lost contact with audience and hence made it diverge at the end toward a absolute no fun farce.

I got my money's worth at the theater. Gore-a-plenty, hillbillies, rabid dogs, hot naked chicks, pancakes...what's not to like!

Isn't David Lynch somehow connected with this film. Some scenes seem to suggest his "off-beat" sense of humor. Has anybody else heard this?

Funny you mention this. There were a few points during the movie where I also had a distinct Lynchian feeling, but it wasn't the humor, it was the music. So I got home afterwards and did some research. Sure enough, the score was done by Angelo Badalamenti, who did the score for Mulholland Drive, The Straight Story, Lost Highway, Twin Peaks (the show and the movie), and Blue Velvet. Interesting.

I saw this for a second time a couple of nights ago and enjoyed it even more. The majority of people I hear on the way out of the theater don't seem to care for it (mainly because of bizarre humor and shifting styles) but I think this is probably one of my favorites for the year.

Hope to see a great DVD release early next year!

I think just having the camera linger on Cerina Vincent's butt for an extended amount of footage as she's walking around was almost worth the price of admission. She's really nice to stare at (plus, if you're resourceful, you can dig up her topless screenshots from "Not Another Teen Movie").

I went to see this Saturday night and liked it quite a bit. Lots of bizarre humor and a few scares. Honestly, I found it more funny than scary. Especially the little kid and his karate moves and the gay squirrels.

I thought Eli Roth used Howard Stern's sense of humor as an inspiration for the last scene....

I thought the deputy was hilarious. Hey, it's the partyman. Got any 40's?

Question about Cabin Fever (minor spoilers)

I rented this movie over the weekend and watched it with a friend. Just to get it out of the way now, we're both horror fans and neither of us really liked this one.

Anyway, one part that really had me scratching my head and both of us looking at each other going "huh?" was the sex scene. Right after they get to the cabin, when the couple has sex she flips him over and jumps on his back and does something to him. WTF? Really. Was she supposed to have man parts? I mean, is she supposed to be a hermaphrodite or what? It happened so fast and I only watched it once, but it seemed like the only thing that could be happening.

This movie was really all over the place. Anyway, I appreciate any theories offered up.

I believe QuiGonJosh is correct. I thought it was funny, kind of turning the typical teen sex scene in a horror movie around.

I have to agree with QuiGonJosh on this one. First you get the laugh at that finger intrusion, and then...

Spoiler:
the "Fingerbang Miscue" scene with our hero inadvertantly mistaking the girls rotting flesh on her leg with her vagina.

That was so gross and so far over the top, that it earned my respect from that alone.

Yep, what QuiGonJosh said. Nothing man-partish about her.

I just saw it. What was up with the dog? When he was with the stoner he was docile but all of a sudden he turns into Cujo for no reason?! Plus, who killed the stoner anyway? He never came in contact with the virus.

Unless.................................... the virus turns normal dogs into Waredogs. But people get turned into waredog food. Hmm, that must be it. The hobo's dog was eaten by the original waredog. Then the hobo contracts the virus turning him into tender mushy waredog food. The Stoners dog must have come in contact with the virus which transformed him into a waredog. Then he eats his master. That explains why the POV shots of the dog were shot in red because he was a waredog.

Actually it's more than that. Eli Roth acccording to his commentaries stated that he had worked under Lynch before, and knew him quite well. In fact that's how he got Badalamenti.

I purchased this on DVD not so long ago and saw it a few days ago and thought it was just ok. I mean it was pretty entertaining but when it was over i couldnt realize if i liked it or not, wierd huh? I mean it had all the things you should like, Hot chicks, gore, a cabin but at times it felt really dumb. The deputy guy was very idiotic, i know he was suppose to be, but c'mon! I felt like i was watching that deputy doofy dude from Scary Movie. I also felt like the Director paid to much tribute to other horror classics and after a while it just felt like rip offs. Anyway, still and all, it was a cool flick. Be sure to check out the easter egg at the scene selection menu after letting it loop twice on each set!

P.S. Rider Strong-What a porn name!

I agree with anyone who thought it was amateurish, sloppy and just an overall failure as far as any attempt at horror or parody or comedy or even B-movie cinema is concerned.

Richard Roeper's scathing review was dead-on.

I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. There were some funny bits, some great exploitation moments of gore and gross out moments, some nice looking women, and overall a nice grungy feel to it all. Good fun I say. Obviously, not for everyone.

i enjoyed the movie a great deal...lingered with me. not sure there was this 'surprise ending' but the way i remember it was
Spoiler:
the townsfolk kills the remaining survivors including Rider Strong and dumps them into the river (i think that was symbolic of another woodsy classic horror movie that i can't recall) and i believe the ending made us believe that the infection would get into the drinking water for the entire populace on a very very large scale
it's been awhile so i might be a little off with some facts

I liked this movie. I wondered what the hell I was watching at first. The acting was appalling and the look of the film was like some bogus entry for film school or a first film festival. I figured either the film was really bad or ... and then it dawned on me that it was meant to be like this; that it was both a spoof and a homage, even a pastiche. Eli Roth is making so many nods to other films. Deliverance, The Evil Dead, Friday the 13th, and many more - they're all here. But it passed me by at first. Once I realised this, I really got into the film and I just couldn't help but enjoy it. Some bits had me in tears to be honest, like the

Spoiler:
party cop and the gag at the end with the rifle

Nice to see Rider Strong in a movie too. I was sat there going, "It's Shawn from Boy Meets World" They should've cast Fred Savage as well and then it could've been called "Boy Meets Virus"
