The final prequel in the Star Wars franchise will be entitled Episode III: An Empire Divided, according to reports on the internet. Internet critic Harry Knowles, of fabled film website Ain't It Cool News, received a tip off from an Australian contact who spotted an article in a local newspaper, in which a local casting agency talked about recruiting for the film. Correspondent Clinton Kardi noted the casting agency mentioned the title of the new movie, which will begin shooting in Australia shortly, as they talked to the journalist - but Lucasfilm has yet to confirm if the report is true. Frenzied speculation has surrounded the eagerly-awaited film - due for release in 2005 - which will be the last of the legendary Star Wars films from creator George Lucas.

The role playing game "star wars galaxies: an Empire divided" was released recently, so there may be some confusion.
People may be mistaking the game for the movie.

I really think it is too early to say what the title is going to be. Likely not An Empire Divided as noted in link below.

Entertainment Tonight last night said the title was gonna be An Empire Divided. At least I think it was that show - maybe it was on the news... could've been the local news. I don't pay too much attention to TV. Anyway - I don't care what it's called - it's not coming out for another 2 years.

Since the naming scheme for the previous two seems to be "pick something that is vaugly connected but still too obscure to having any real meaning" I'll have to go with "Scarface" as the title but as they may run into problems with that then how about "Very Warm Volcano"

I like Revenge of the Sith more than An Empire Divided. The second sounds more like a political drama, like Ep.1. Revenge means action!

But like stated above, the title probably won't be released until the marketeing department is called in. That or the opening credits are developed.

"An Empire Divided" would be a good title if there was going to be an Episode VII.

It will definately be another stupid Sccoby Doo title that noone but Lucas will like.
