This might be in the wrong forum, I think.
I think I might have to go with Mulholland Drive for now. I spent a good week watching, analyzing, rewatching, rethinking that movie. And you know what? I had a great time doing it.

Caimen -- You've been a member since May 2000, and you still don't know about the "Report this post to a moderator" link?
Hot -- what do you mean by "best story"? Do you mean the most intricate plot? The best script? The best dialogue? The best twist ending? The best story behind the story?
I'll lump all those together and pick... either Memento or Shawshank Redemption.

Recently I've been on a T2 kick, it has to be up there as one of my favorites.

Clearly The Greatest Story Ever Told would be the winner, otherwise it's false advertising.
The Never Ending Story might win on sheer volume.

This is probably cheating but I am going to say Godfather I & II. I love the way Pacino's Corleone starts out as a good man and is pulled into the family business. He then becomes even more ruthless than his father. After the final Lord of the Ring's movie is released this might end up in first place because I love that story as well.

Babylon 5.
Seasons one and two are available now.
No story comes close for me...vast epic intermixed with very small, personal stories. TV Guide once said "This is the best television show ever made."
I agree.
