The car jump scene in Gone in 60 Seconds looked bad and took me out of the movie. I was really enthralled up to that point. Okay, maybe not.
AOTC overused the CGI and turned out looking artificial in my opinion.

I'm a big fan of AOTC, but I still say the CGI work in it is horrible. It totally takes me out of the movie, and a lot of it is completely unnecessary.
I'd much rather Lucas go back to people in large alien suits.

After watching Hulk l;ast night... we sadly add another film to this list.
Some great, GREAT CGI.... from time to time. We also get CRAP CGI, and when I mean CRAP, I mean he looks like a massive ball of snot with soulless eyes.

any animated dreamworks movie!
anastasia, prince of egypt, forthcoming sinbad
it's ok to use CG in these, but they are so horrificly NOT blended into the rest of the movie. this is one way disney still owns dreamworks' animation dept.

I think the CGI work in AOTC is so noticable because as viewers, we are aware how much went into the movie. Lucas also creates some locales, characters, and effects that could not feasibly (money, etc) be physically reproduced.

Spawn -- the hell finale was beyond horrible.
Spy Kids trilogy -- it's like they're not even trying.
The Mummy Returns -- the first movie worked because there was a sense of character and adventure. The sequel just felt like one CGI action scene after another (which it basically was), and the flying scenes were the worst -- especially the ending.

Another vote for Escape from LA. The movie had horrible CGI, but at least the rest of the movie was good.
Oh wait, that's right- the movie sucked too.

Another terrible CGI movie -- well, OK, a terrible [i]scene[/] -- is in Eraser when Arnie is fighting with the crocodile. Honestly, even a fake rubber crocodile would have been more lifelike.

My two cents:
1) Wing Commander - they couldn't even get the physics right...a space ship takes off into zero-G and it dips like it launched from an WWII aircraft carrier
2) Mortal Kombat Annhiliation - the first movie was pretty damned good, all things considered, and that includes the effects. The second movie's effects were SO bad
3) AotC. I'm sorry...it was overdone, cartoonish, and took me out of the movie too. In my world, that is the definition of "bad effects".

I will make my decision when I see Hulk and T3 and that Pirate movie because to be honest the CGI ive been seeing in these trailors is makeing me think CGI is going backward instead of forward.
