I just saw this at the $1.00 movies, and it had the hospital bad ending after the credits.

I enjoyed the film, it had some moments that made you think.

One question, if it only takes 15 seconds to go from normal to infected, and the infection is only spread through blood, then how did a whole island country get infected?? It seems to me that once the goverment realized the problem, they would have military units ready to shoot on sight, anywhere the outbreak is happening. The infected wouldn't be able to drive anywhere, so how did remote villages get hit?

I really liked all the music throughout the movie. I'm actually considering getting the soundtrack which would be a first for me.

The best song in the movie isnt on the soundtrack. The one at the beginning when he's walking around and finding out everyone is gone is by a band from Canada called Godspeed You Black Emperor, the song is off of their first cd. A slightly more independent record store will probabaly have it, the album is called F# A# (Infinity).

Non-primates can carry the disease, but not be affected by it.

There really is no logical explanation provided. Boyle originally set the film up so that it effected the entire world, but after thinking about it (while the movie was already being made) he decided it made more sense to be limited to just the UK. As for remote villages and other rural communities, use your imagination. Birds, mosquitoes, who knows what else.

You know, I'm a huge zombie fan and I hated this. Sure they were just virus infected folks, but considering Dawn of the dead remake is basing the mobs of zombies off this film it really gets me bummed.

the movie was borrrrrrrring. just didn't get me at all. I apperciate the work the director did on digital and also the way he filmed so that it looked like an empty city, but all that was useless unless it had a story I could actually care about.

I agree with you and giantrobo. I didn't get the appeal of this movie at all. I didn't think it was just boring, I thought it was pretty unoriginal and bordeline cheesy -- and I love Dawn of the Dead.

Maybe that's why I liked it a lot - I have never seen any of these zombie/horror flicks you guys talk about so much. Please don't be angry w/ me.

I think that is the problem most people have with 28 Days Later. They go into it thinking it is a zombie movie and it is not a zombie movie IMO.

I -didn't- go in thinking it was about zombies. However, I did go in believing all the shit on the dvd box... Scarier than...New Kind of horror....

I really liked the movie. I will echo what others have said with that the ending was not very strong and actually up until the 42nd army blockade I thought the movie was amazing.
In the DVD release, I think the producers of the movie talked about a "radical alternative ending"
It was only in storyboard form as it appeared to me that they didn't have the funding. THAT would have been my perfered ending to the movie.
