Dinsey's next animated feature film is "Brother Bear" (Nov '03)
Official Brother Bear teaser site...
Saw this on the Jungle Book 2 DVD and looked on Disney's site.
According to the trailer, it contains 5 new songs by Phil Collins (Tarzan).
The two moose that you see in the site and in the trailer are voiced by Rick Moranis (Tuke) and Dave Thomas (Rutt); just imagine the McKensie Brothers with antlers!
The principle voice actors are Joaquin Phoenix (Kenai), a 'Native American' who is magically transformed into a bear, and Jeremy Suarez (Koda) - the little kid Jordan on Bernie Mac - as the little bear cub who befriends him.
Michael Clark Duncan also voices the leader of the bears.
Since I'm a Disney fan-boy, I'll be there to see this over Thanksgiving Holiday.

No interest in this from me at all, although i've been pleasently surprised with Treasure Planet, Lilo and Stitch, Emperor's New Groove, and Atlantis... seeing all of those outside of the theater and coincidently owning them all on DVD

The trailer I saw of this this past weekend looked pretty interesting to me.

The McKensie Brothers gimmick seem to be the only good thing in this film and I'm guessing you won't see to much of them.
I think I'll pass on this one

I'm not interested in this at all. When I first saw the display at the theater, I thought it was for Ice Age 2. The characters look identical at first glance.

I'm actually very excited to see this movie. I knew I had seen the trailer somewhere before. When I went to see Finding Nemo--the funny moose told everyone to leave the theatre to come see Brother Bear-I thought that was very clever. It was very funny and me being my old age I still laughed! I will definitely go see this movie.

The movie looks good. I went on a behind-the-scenes tour 3 weeks ago at Disney-MGM Studios where they were working on this film. It looks phenomenal.

"Why a Saturday release? Why?"
They realized they were releasing a children's movie on Halloween and wondered what they were doing. Moving it back a week would put it into Matrix territory, so that scared them a bit, so they just moved it back a day.
I think that's what happened.

Interesting about a friday release. sure you might get crap for returns but something is better then nothing. I would have just let it fly on that friday.

But I bet they get more press coverage with it being released on a Saturday since that's unique. I think they chose the Nov 1 date because of Halloween, recognizing that so few families would be in theaters that night.
they have this up at Animated Bliss, which is pretty interesting:

One of the most innovative aspects of “Brother Bear” is the aspect ratio itself. The film starts off in the standard 1.85:1 format commonly used for most of today’s releases. One third of the way into the film, when Kenai discovers that he has been transformed into a bear, the screen opens up to a widescreen Cinemascope or 2.35:1 format.
