I see I'm not the only person who sees Uma playing Bridget.

Variety indicates Tarantino wants none other than Leo to play 'The Jew Hunter.'

I will admit, it's def not who I saw in mind when I saw the character, but the idea of Leo playing such a brilliantly fleshed-out cold and calculating butcher is just mouth-watering.

if Leo and Pitt accept the roles, that would be pretty incredible.

Eli Roth? That little fuck can't act at all. Geez, Quentin... you get this big script going and talk and talk and talk about gunning for A-list actors, and then you cast ELI ROTH?!?! WTF? This film just moved down a peg on my must-see list. One whole peg!

Yeah, I'm definitely not a fan of Roth's acting. Based on his scene in Death Proof, he's sort of like Vince Vaughn without any of the charm. Sandler would've been interesting as I like his dramatic work, what little there is of it.

The more interesting bit in that article though is:

Tarantino had planned to meet with Leonardo DiCaprio for the role of SS Col. Hans Landa, only to decide that the role should be played by a German actor.

I haven't read the screenplay, but judging from some of the descriptions in this thread, it would've been interesting to see DiCaprio in the role. He definitely would've sold some tickets, I think.

Eli Roth's character has a pretty small part. It's not a big deal. Though I did expect some big, linebacker looking dude in the part.

And he's in the new Uwe Boll flick. Fits right with the casting of Eli Roth.

I finished the screenplay several nights ago. Sorry to say that I was less than blown away, as it was much more Kill Bill I than KB II (not a compliment).



The casting of Roth is bad news, as that part really should've gone to someone who looks like he could do terrible things to people with a baseball bat. It's a small role, but when I think "Bear Jew," Eli Roth isn't the first name to come to mind.

OTOH, DiCaprio was absolutely the wrong choice for Landa, and I'm glad that Tarantino's come to his senses there. The thought of Leo--a guy who specializes in conflicted, working class boy-men on the verge of adult responsibilities and moral decisions--as a cold, sociopathic genius who speaks English, Italian, German and French is too much.

Clemence Poesy might be good as Shoshanna, as she's the French flavor of the hour thanks to In Bruges and looks young enough to pull off the handful of scenes in which her character is 16.

Finally, I can't imagine anyone other than Bruce Willis playing Aldo. Pitt would be as poor a choice for this role as Leo would've been for Landa.

I figured Leo would be playing the young German Nazi war hero. I could see him in that part, other than him playing as a German Nazi war hero.

Brad Pitt Officially Joins Inglorious Bastards

Brad Pitt has closed his deal to star in Inglorious Bastards, the WWII drama that Quentin Tarantino will direct for the Weinstein Company and Universal.

The film begins production on October 13 in Germany. Tarantino, who wrote the script, is aiming to complete the film and have it ready for next year's Cannes Film Festival. Lawrence Bender and Erica Steinberg are producing, with Harvey and Bob Weinstein as executive producers.

Pitt will play a Tennessee hillbilly who assembles a team of eight Jewish-American soldiers. Bender said casting should be complete in about a week or two.
