I really don't care that there's a lot of homages in QT's work. He does it right. So it works for me.

What Jack said.
|
Yeah, even if he draws from other stuff, he quite frankly improves on it and makes it his own.
Nonetheless, something about Tarantino directing Stallone just sounds entertaining. And him trying a period flick will be interesting, no doubt. Though, I'll wait til it's actually filming to get really excited. |
Of course he cast Bruce Willis in Inglorious Bastards. Who better to play Butch's grandfather (keeper of the watch)? I'm a Stallone fan and it'll be great to see him in a movie that's not direct-to-video or a sequel to Rocky or Rambo. While he's writing parts, why not write a part for Arnold Schwarzenegger as a super-Nazi, Clint Eastwood as The Man With No Name Jr. and Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones?
|
I'll be curious to see the cast he amasses for this project; QT always seems to pluck an underappreciated or "out of style" actor out of the pile and give him/her some deserved recognition. Given his flair for the grim and graphic I'm also curious as to how he portrays the war and Nazi Germany itself.....it could make for one helluva movie :).

Adam Sandler=Kiss of Death
|
Others are right though, this movie was actually announced BEFORE Kill Bill. Tarantino was looking to get Sandler to star (this was back when Sandler was filming PUNCH DRUNK LOVE, because Sandler even mentioned it in some interviews), and then it just suddenly vanished. I won't hold my breath for it until it comes out because as someone else said Tarantino also announced a Vega Brothers movie, and that was announced in an Entertainment Weekly interview that was published BEFORE Pulp Ficiton went into wide release.
|
I look forward to seeing Rob Schneider as a passing European civilian who shouts "You can do it!"
|
i wonder if the title will have to be changed since most mainstreme movies have to have G rated titles.

Not thrilled about Sandler, but glad to hear about both Stallone and Svenson.
|
Whatever Tarantino does, I'm looking foward to it.
|
This film will force me to break my "no Adam Sandler in the DVD collection" rule.
|
I think it will be interesting to have Madsen play a character with the name of Vega and Willis play a Coolidge; think of the irony in terms of how their Grandsons interact in the future!

Wonder if he's still planning to make that Mandarin language kung-fu film first. With QT, you never know what the hell will really come next.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the original, and I am sure Tarantino will make it his own and I will enjoy it as well (I hope). |

QT should give Tom Sizemore a role in the film. He said that he's destitute living in a garage in Whittier, Ca.
Either way, I'm sure this movie will be good. |
Maybe if Sizemore spent more time auditioning and less time beating up women he would have more work.
