It's not exactly a comedy, but there's some quirkiness in it.

There a couple of scenes in the script that seem sort of David Lynchian. (One involves a card game.)

And a lot of the action pieces are probably going to be reminiscent of the House of Blues Leaves battle from Kill Bill: Over-the-top, hyperviolent, gory, and sort of humorous.

This is going to be one of those movies that gets a strong reaction from people. They're either going to love it or be bewildered by it, like What the fuck did I just watch? It's a love it or hate type of deal, with very little middle ground. And I think that a lot of people's attitudes to it are going to be tied to their expectations of what it's going to be.

^^Interesting, the final chapter has changed significantly from the script... Just like Kill Bill

What happens in the Kill Bill script? I've never read it.

From what I remember, Bill and The Bride have a huge, elaborate, swordfight on the beach.

ditto...still kinda wish that had happened. It just read out as being such a badass scene. I felt kinda robbed when it never happened. The actual ending that did happening was nice too..but..still miss the original.

Disappointed that Adam Sandler isn't going to be in it. He is a very good dark comedic actor and I'm worried that Roth isn't going to be able to carry the weight of an important role.

Interesting that Samm Levine (Neal Schweiber from Freaks and Geeks) and B.J. Novak (Ryan from The Office) are going to be in it. Strangely, even though this definitely isn't their area of expertise, I think they'll do well.

Re: Inglorious Bastards - Tarantino's Next Project!

Trialer didn't really do anything for me (aside from the cool music) but I said the same about the The Dark Knight trailers (as far as the movie as a whole would be concerned) so, I'm not worried.

That's pretty cool.

I'm excited about this movie and I'm pretty sure I will love it. I'm also pretty sure that I will own the DVD when it's available.

The problem...I think this movie will bomb at the box office. I just see this movie as being the kind of movie that doesn't do very well at all.

Amazing that it's been 6 years since I first posted about this. I guess that's the way Tarantino does it.

Meh. Those posters are alright, but they have a weird photoshop feel to them. Not nearly as cool as his previous one sheets. I wonder what the final will look like?

Ok...those posters are awesome.

My initial reaction was "Sam Levine? WTH?" but someone pointed out that WWII soldiers weren't necessarily big muscular dudes, but some pretty "normal" guys, which I think they've captured here.
