Where are all the "bruce almighty blasphemy" reviews?

Surely some uptight christian group must be bashing this film. Please provide links to reviewers who critiscize bruce almighty solely because of its portrayal of god.

It must be a good, funny, sweet movie like 1977's OH, GOD.
Only when the movie tries to put a liberal message like DOGMA did a few years ago will the christian get pissed.

Most of the Christian sites that are reviewing it, while dismayed at the crude and sexual content, are actually pleased with the message and its portrayal of God as a loving, wise and caring Creator. The movie is not blasphemous in the least.

Of course, I haven't read CAP Alert yet....

I believe it got a decent review in the newspaper The Christian Science Monitor. "Scientists" aren't really notoriously conservative, I don't think, so that might not be saying much.

I'll wait for my own personal Holy Trinity - Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and Billy Graham - to inform me what I should think of the film.

It's Jim Carey... you think he's going to do anything that's controversial? Playing it safe is a business model for him now.

Now people - let's not lump far-right fundamentalists in with all christians.

I'm a Catholic that LOVES Dogma. Something Catholics should see, I think.

Catholic League and Moral Majority though... shudder...

If the Moral Majority frightens you, you scare easily. Considering that the organization disbanded in 1989.

It disbanded on paper, but became part of the present, rather frightening Bush regime. Sorta like the Christian Coalition.

Dogma wasn't liberal, it just didn't pander to the man made crap that surrounds much of religion today, and went to the core of the message in the Bible and told the TRUTH. MUCH of what was in that movie was straight out of the Bible. Then again, I always said that if the Bible was filmed verbatum, word for word, murder for murder, deviant act for deviant act, it would be ostracized far more than Dogma or the Last Temptation of Christ.

I saw Bruce Almighty tonight, and I felt it was the most tasteful handling of God in a movie since the end of Time Bandits. Well done. I figured it would be a more of a modern type of Oh, God, and I was right.

Anybody know the name of that right wing extremist baptist group? They had a website and it was pretty hilarious.

They reviewed the Two Towers and they described how filthy the movie was. Pointing out the filthiest of stuff in the movie that only they made up for themselves. The website had "Non-saved not welcome to this site and will burn in hell.". . I think if you can find that website, you'll find a very bad (and hilarious) review of the film. I saw it on my vacation with family, came out of it very pleased. I beleive in God, but I'm not a person that would be easily offended by a movie potraying God.

Getting Morgan Freeman to play God probably helped. Man, talk about type-casting.

Oh wait, stop the presses. I found one.

I think that people are calling the phone number (Which is a Colorado radio station) is a very sad commentary.

I think you are referring to Landover Baptist , which is obviously a joke site. If it isn't, I'd be surprised and very, very frightened.

They have an article on Bruce Almighty, lovingly titled "Universal Studios Pays Jim Carrey $20 Million to Squat Down and Poop on the Holy Bible".
