Don't know if anyone has ever thought of this. I've been a Matrix fan since the first movie was in the theaters, but this is the first time I've ever had any serious participation in discussions about it. So I don't know how much has been dug out of this movie. With that... I did a couple screen caps of Smith looking thru Neo's file and rotated them 180 deg. Notice you can see his father and mothers name, birth date, name of the city of record... Nothing ultra revealing, but interesting, I thought.

It's pretty well known that the movie was shot in Sydney, but was there ever any mention of the name of the city in the Matrix?

There's a swingin' town I know called... Capital City.

I think Matrix 1 was supposed to take place in Chicago, or at least a city based on Chicago.

This is according to my Matrix book of essays, "Taking the Red Pill"; the book points out that all of the street names in Neo's hometown are real streets in Chicago, and apparantley some actually have some sort of sybolism.

So there ya go.

The brothers are from Chicago, and anyone from Chicago recognized every single street name/intersection names in the first movie....I thought it was cool...cause I'm from Chicago.

Anywho, they're also a big print of the Chicago skyline in Neo's bosses office in the first flick.

I thought it was supposed to be 1999.

That's a passport, so it's probably an expiration date.

I took it as an expiry as well. Just one of those odd coincidences surrounding that day.

I'm a bit confused as the left side of the passport says 12 SEP/SEP 01 and the right side says 11 SEP/SEP 01.

I think it's just the background messing with the number. Pretty sure they both say 11.

Good stuff picking out the photos though.

It's amazing the detail that was gone too in these movies.

The biggest ones: Wabash and Lake.

We also noticed how the city didn't look at all like Chicago
