It was complete crap before the Oracle...after it was damn good! spoilers here

Overall this movie was awesome...but what was up with all the wasted time before the oracle scene. I would say 80% of the events before the oracle had nothing to do with anything. Nice frickin' rave! Nice hour long scene of some guy and girl real close to each other from the shoulders up. First, they can totally cut that out of the movie...but if they feel necessary to leave it in make it shorter and make it seem like they are really making love.
O yeah, nice cheesey ass counselor and cheesy ass speach to the people of Zion...how does that crap trigger a silly rave! I loved those guys jumping on trampolines during the "rave"....damn, that was horrible!

However, everything after the oracle scene was much better. Better acting, more story, and better action sequences. They should have just started the movie with the dream sequences, a quick intro to Zion...and then the oracle. Skip all the other crap! I liked the movie a lot though.

We have 72 hours to the biggest war of our people!
Dude let's throw a rave!!

Many points of this movie made it clear that the philosophy in Matrix really is just stoner philosophy.

seriously? that was absolutely rediculous. I know I have already said that but i have to stress it again...it almost ruined the entire movie...it was that bad. the love scene too...just absurd! the story of the matrix and the idea of it as a hole is very cool, the action sequences are some of the best ever...but the direction of this movie makes me question the brothers as directors.

i know its easy to criticize (i sure as hell dont have a clue what it takes to be a director beyond my dvd extras) but from what i can tell from this movie...i think they were confused for a while. the beginning is rediculous!

More likely, I think they were horny for awhile.

Yeah, but the love scene looked like it was just pasted in there. Sheer PG-13 humping and just unecessary!!!!!!! Ugh! The kiss between Neo and Persephone (sp?) was much more sexy.

I also hated the Rave Scene....And it lasted FOREVER!!!! They could have accomplished the same thing in about 30 seconds...Not 10 Minutes!!!! The speech was bad...

I still enjoyed the movie, but it would have been even better without that scene.

You obviously don't know History. Soldiers in WWII(Germans and Brits I believe) actually stopped the War during the Holidays and met and danced sang with the "enemy". War is something few people will every experience but believe me there is enough time to brood and worry...the idea is to get away from that and feel Human again.

I didn't mind the scenes. I didn't wait an hour in line to see a rushed movie. I wanted a spectacle...The Matrix Movie is just as much about Music as it is about visuals.

I have no real complaints. Monica Belluci's part was short and Roy Jones Jr is NOT an actor with ANY potential but I digress.

Looking forward to Revolutions.

I also thought the film could have started with Neo visiting the Oracle, and it would have been the same film more or less (or rather, more to the point...it would have been a better film)...and this makes me think that, the Wachowskis wrote a really good three hour movie...and split it into two, added 45 minutes of filler to each half, bake on 450 for 4 years, and you've got a trilogy....

Seriously, I think it looks like Reloaded/REvolutions could have been one 3 hour flick, they just chose to make more money by splitting them and adding filler to pad out the running time...

I didn't mind the rave, it just went on way too long.

The love scene was a joke. I mean after seeing the W.'s love scene in Bound (intense) and watching this, it is like out of an after school special.

The kiss was much better than the love scene. Agreed.

I would update the post title to say that spoilers are present.

I thought some parts were just to damn slow such as the french guy talking and I have to agree about the rave scene being ridiculous. It was terrible.

Also I think that there were too many new characters introduced in this movie. They never focused on any of the characters which made it seem like a hodgepodge of dialogue.

Did anyone notice that the music was not as good in this one like the first?

Looks like the third one is going to be a lot better.
