How the heck is this deemed a positive review by RT?
I was reading reviews for the MR over at RT.com when I came across this one. Here's a link to the review.

The review rates Matrix Reloaded 5/10. Now, if the cutoff for being rated positive(ripe) on the tomatometer is 6/10, how do you deem that review positive. There's another negative review that's a perfect example of this.
Just thought this was interesting.

Yeah, I saw that, too. They also had a semi-positive review passed off as a negative.
-edit-
At least they did ... I can't seem to find it right now.

You misunderstand Rotten Tomatoes' method for their rating. A review either recommends seeing a movie or not (Fresh/Rotten). For a movie to receive an overall fresh rating 60% of the ratings must be classified fresh. The review you linked to is quite critical, but the key is the next to last paragraph of the review:
He recommends seeing the movie (albeit at a matinee) but it is a recommendation to see it. He is also clear to state it is not a "bad" movie. That's not a rotten review...
And remember, the original garnered only slightly more positive critical reviews than this one is.
If you're a fan of The Matrix, I wouldn't miss Reloaded at the theater, but I wouldn't pay full price for a ticket. Hit a dollar showing, or, at the very least, a matinee. To label the film as a "bad" movie would be too harsh. It's not a bad movie.

To label the film as a "bad" movie would be too harsh. It's not a bad movie. "Earth-Shattering disappointment of monumental proportions" more accurately fits the bill.

It's no big deal, but I think it underscores that people put way too much stock in the tomatometer and what percentage a film gets.

Yeah, I think a lot of people misunderstand the "Fresh" rating. A 95% Fresh rating for a movie does not mean that virtually every reviewer thought it was a good film. It may only mean that virtually every reviewer thought it was barely watchable.
