Absolutely fabulous film (and even thought the DVD is 4 years old, it still ranks as one of the best IMO)

Probably didn't help him that the song plagiarized "I want a new drug" by Huey Lewis and the News. I heard they sued his ass off.

As I assume, you're probably referring to the beat. (Plagiarism refers to copying words.) And well, in that case, I don't really hear any similarities.

Nonetheless, the case was settled and Ray Parker Jr. recently sued Huey's ass for talking about it on VH1, since that broke the confidentiality agreement of the case.

In any event, I think more people know and like "Ghostbusters" than "I Want a New Drug."

But that's all beside the point, which is...hmm...I wish the "Ghostbusters" music video was on the DVD. That's one of the few things it's missing!

I have a very strong attachment to Ghostbusters; growing up, it was my favorite movie. Plus, it also came out on my birthday .

That's funny because when I'm listenning to the two tracks, clearly I can hear the music is exactly the same even thought Ray Parker Jr's song is played a little faster.

And funnier is the fact that Huey Lewis was first asked to do the song but he turned them down so they had to hire Ray Parker Jr who "wrote" a song that sounds exactly like a Huey Lewis song.

Anyway, I don't really care, I was just assuming the lawsuit might have had a negative impact on Mr. Parker's carreer.

But I loved the movie!

What's really funny about cases like these is I'm a child of the 80's and grew up listening to both of these songs *a lot* and I never heard any similarity.


My boss has a dog that's half chow, half something else. Will rip your head off and crap down your throat if you look at her wrong. Unless you're her friend, then she is so gentle, she won't use her teeth to take food out of your hand, she will actually use her lips so as not to hurt you. Anyways, when my boss tries to describe her to other people, they can never picture her until I say, "remember the devil dogs from Ghostbusters? Same thing, only furrier."

Speaking of the terror dogs, when they run, the effect is really quite cheesy. (They look weightless.) But when they're stationary and just moving about, that's some scary ish.

That's because when they're standing still they're full size rubber puppets.
