Finding Nemo

Anyone else excited about Finding Nemo?

I've adored every Pixar film that's come out so far. I don't expect this one to be any less than spectacular.

Giantrobo 05-01-03 06:02 PM

Count me in  The promo poster with the Great White is awesome.

JaxComet 05-01-03 06:03 PM

I'll be checking it out even though the trailer doesn't excite me too much......The turtle character is pretty annoying...

MasterofDVD 05-01-03 06:59 PM

I don't like the the voices and theme of this one but I too love every other thing Pixar has done. With that said.....I'll pass on it for now and pick up the loaded DVD that is sure to be out later on.

I usually love Pixar films but I can't really seem to be getting into this one. I'll watch it.. but it's just that it seems like the story (From what I know of it) is a bit lacking. Who knows, Maybe I'll really be surprised.

javanut 05-02-03 09:47 AM

I wasn't so excited for Monsters, iNc before it was released, but then when I saw it at the theater I LOVED it.

I'm sure the same thing will happen when I see Nemo.

Albert Brooks seems like a good choice to voice a character.

Gotta admit I've become kinda disenchanted with Pixar of late. Toy Story 1 & 2 were pretty good, but everything else has kinda seemed like a rehash of the same ideas. i.e. loveable characters existing in a society right under the nose of humanity getting into whacky adventures. Nothing that much different than the stuff Disney puts out.

Say what you will about the Final Fantasy movie, at least it tried to make a CGI film that was beautiful, and had a reasonably mature theme. Surely with Lassiter being such a huge Miyazaki fan they should be able to produce something similar, but with a decent script.

The lobster/turtle or whatever it is in the commercial that has the annoying 'Dude' line is single-handedly making me not want to see this movie.

fumanstan 05-02-03 10:30 AM

I want to see it, however i probably won't see it in theaters and i'll wait for the dvd.

Read an article about this recently where this movie was shown to that National Theatres Association (or whatever it's called) and it tested through the roof. The theatre owners loved it and said it was the best Disney/Pixar movie yet. And they loved all the others. I think the preview looks great. I'm there.

PixyJunket 05-02-03 02:57 PM

Finding Nemo and American Wedding are the only 2 movies I'm really excited about seeing in the theater this year (so far).

Can't wait!!!

Loved Toy Story 1 & 2, loved Monsters Inc., never saw A Bug's Life and I'm not too thrilled at seeing Finding Nemo. I'll watch it but I won't go out of my way to see it.

shizawn 05-02-03 05:33 PM

I won't be seeing this one in the theater (in fact, I haven't seen any Pixar film in the theater), but I'm resonably sure I'll be buying the DVD when it comes out.

Jim 05-02-03 05:43 PM

Based on the trailer on some DVDs we've seen, our family is definitely looking forward to Finding Nemo.

J_McKittrick 05-02-03 06:26 PM

the best way to see any Pixar movie is in the theater. They've done an excellent job on all their films, even though A Bug's Life had to actually grow on me in order to appreciate it.

I'll be there.

The first trailer left me very cold. I was dreading this thing being the end of the Pixar magic. The 2nd trailer got me interested again (if tentatively).

We'll see.

I will see any Pixar movie in a theatre. However, I think the best way to see one of their movies is on DVD. The picture is so much more clearer. For example, the insects eyes in "A Bug's Life". It was like watching a 3D movie (without wearing the glasses).

javanut 05-05-03 10:41 AM

The new trailer they show before X2 kicks ass.

CharlesC 05-05-03 11:30 AM

I'll be seeing this one for the visuals alone. Can't wait!

hmurchison 05-05-03 12:12 PM

Count me in. I'm a 3rd Animation fan. I'll be watching this on the Big screen.

Erica 05-05-03 12:44 PM

I really can't wait to see this. Both of my kids are excited too. My 4 yr old son kept making me replay the preview from KiKi's Delivery Service over & over. The one with the light. We were cracking up!

While I agree that watching an animated movie on a big screen is pretty impressive, I absolutely hate seeing "kid" movies in the theater. With noisy kids running around and that fact that they crank the sound up to intolerable levels, I've purposely missed all animated and live action "Family" films in the theaters for the last few years and just waited for DVD (where I can watch in peace).

I'll probably do the same with Finding Nemo. I'm actually looking forward to this movie quite a bit. The animation just looks breathtaking to me.

Here's the first review I have seen. Better than Monsters inc!?!

I'm there. Love Pixar's work. Cuz they actually improve over their last installment everytime. I'm astounded how great they're able to make the underwater visuals and the movements of the fish.
