I enjoyed your comprehensive list, Goonies. Here's mine from, geez, 15 years ago. I'll add a few new ones at the bottom. Best Boy remains my favourite documentary of all time. Wow, I have seen many fantastic docs in the time since then! For some reason, I omitted Dear America from the original list. Cheers.

If anyone enjoys interesting photography of places you may never get to, I really love Antarctica: A Year on Ice. Many shots are some amazing time-lapse shots.
It took the filmmaker 10 years of trips from New Zealand to Antarctica for work. He developed his own equipment. Very interesting way to see life at a large scientific station. Not only does he capture the views but interesting interviews with those that spend winter there. Imagine going three months without sun?
The doc used to be on Netflix. After it left, I missed it enough to buy the blu-ray.

Oddly enough, The Phantom Menace DVD documentary - "The Beginning" - is very, very good.
I also like raw footage, no narration, Observational documentaries. For example, "102 Minutes That Changed America" (9/11 documentary)

I could list a ton of Star Wars docs I love, but that would almost need its own separate thread.

I recently watched The Emperor's Naked Army Marches On and it definitely makes it into my top 10 favorite documentaries of all time. I highly recommend it.
