That's too easy. Has there been a movie where an Arab wasn't a villian?

Since this is really about movies with Arab villians, and doesn't have anything to do with the discs themselves, I'm moving this to Movie Talk.

Doc, quit trying to hijack my thread. What are you Arab? The point of the post is that there aren't all that many movies with Arab villians. There are tons with German, Russian, American, English villians.

This thread is bull****. If I started a "DVDs with Black villains" thread it'd be closed in five minutes. Is there any reason to have this thead other than start sh** up?

LOL. Great pun

While there may be more movies with other ethnicities as villains, you cannot deny that they're aren't many movies that feature Arabs in non-villain roles.

Here's some off the top of my head.

Die Hard 1,2,3
Lethal Weapon 1,2,3,4
Most of the Bon Flicks(Octopussy is the exception I think.)
Blade
The Matrix
Passenger 57
Commando
Batman, BR, BF, B&R
Pretty much all horror movies
Bad Boys
Pretty much all Westerns
Gladiator
The Professional
And that's all I can think of right now but I know there's a ton more.

I think it was a rhetorical question, like one you don't answer.

Pretty much every movie (at least action movies) has a villain of some sort. Doc, are you claiming that Arabs aren't getting fair representation as villains and as regular characters? I'm not sure I understand your point. To elaborate on my earlier point, I believe Arabs are rarely cast in the villain role for politically correct reasons. Not that I necessarily agree. I thought it might be interesting to list these kinds of movies. I'm not making any statement against a particular race, simply an observation.

I think you may have misunderstood me, or perhaps my statement was unclear.

Obviously, if we were looking at every movie every made, Arabs would constitute the villains in less than 00.1% of them. That's a no-brainer.

What I'm asking is, how often have you seen an Arab character in a movie that wasn't a villain?

OK wasn't their some good Arabs in The Mummy and Raiders of the Lost Arc? They had some villians in them too. Fair and balanced.

Probably a couple of minutes and also a rather significant plot point (not their ethnicity but regarding whether Doc Brown lives or dies).

Isn't it significant that even for a comedy, the easy villains are Arabs, even when the ethnicity of these villains had no effect on the plot? They could have chosen many others. I'm not necessarily saying it's bad or good but, given our society, it has been easy to make Arabs into acceptable villains for audiences.

Your statement was very unclear. Oh, well, I named a whole bunch of movies anyways. It don't matter.
