I don't know about that but I'm pretty sure sooner or later this thread would change into another Lucas bashing thread.

I doubt it. He wants to do more things in his life other then Star Wars related, which is the main reason he stated he didn't want to do an episode 7-9. I highly doubt it.

I take anything coming from Lucas with a grain of salt - he seems to change

If he does do anything Star Wars related after Ep 3, it will probably be 7-9.

Part of me wishes Lucas would just hand over the reins to someone else who wants to make lots of movies, TV series, cartoons, etc, but when I see what a disaster B & B have turned Star Trek into, I can understand why he doesn't. Rick McCallum is probably the number one contender, and I can see him running SW into the ground pretty fast.

I agree with you. No one should say it's not a possibility.

C'mon guys we all know he has changed his mind and had to re-qoute himelf so many times in the last 20 years about what he intends to do that it is not even funny.

Now, he is saying he wants to work on other projects after Star Wars. He also did this after ROTJ. I think it is going to depend on what he can accomplish with his post SW career. If we get Howard the Duck 2 ....

Also,

Fox will no doubt be breathing down his back and edging him to do more Star Wars Films. Although he doesn't need the money, they can be a big impact on his decsions.

As I said before, it's not going to happen. Besides, the last thing I want to see happen is Star Wars: Episode X. Leave that to Star Trek and James Bond.

He's said that after Ep. III he wants to do personal films. I hope he does. As a big American Grafiti and THX 1138 fan, I'd like to see what else he has in him beside Star Wars.

The only thing Star Wars i'd be interested in seeing is if he decides to do, like you say, a prequel before the prequels. I'd like to see it have a budget of $20 million and be really minimal w/ no (or few) special effects. Something really experimental.
