best music in a movie not dealing with music?

i think high fidelity and almost famous are two of the best music movies ever, but seeing as they deal with music they don't count.

well, today i rewatched the royal tenenbaums and the music in the movie is extraordinary. wondered what others come up with.

i'll jump back in my thread and pump a couple 80 brat pack movies. 16 candles, st. elmo's fire, and pretty in pink were all good sounding movies.

I think any of Wes Anderson's movies have good music (Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, and The Royal Tennenbaums)

Almost forgot the music in P.T. Andersons movies as well. I really enjoyed the score of Magnolia.

American Graffitii

Story of the kids last night before they head off to college, great music heard from 'late' DJ Wolfman Jack. Suzzane Sommers in that 1956 White T-Bird, when Ron Howard had 'hair' and Richard Dreyfuss didn't have 'grey' hair. A real fun movie with Harrison Ford as a contender in the street racing classic before Star Wars and 'Hans Solo'

Metalhead Goat3001 has a soft spot for cheesy pop:
