A Who biopic on the way with Nic Cage?!

From www.darkhorizons.com:

The Who Biopic: A rather juicy but wild rumour from 'Rick' has come in today which music fans may love: "I work for ****** in Seattle and had a notable customer last week - Nicolas Cage. A friend was talking about the band 'The Who' and Cage said he's trying to get a movie up and running about them. He said he is going to play Pete Townsend in the film, and that he also hopes to be able to mimic his voice and movemement so he can realistically pull it off. My friend asked if it would be a tell-all movie that would delve into Townsend's child porn past, Cage enthusiastically said no way and it would concentrate on the music and rise of the band. Who would he like to be John Entwistle and Roger Daltrey? Stuart Townsend looks the part of John, and [shocker] Hugh Grant as Daltrey Cage told".

I'd see this without hesitation.

I think Cage was just daydreaming. Along with him wanting to play Superman or Ghost Rider.

Uh yeah.... if a movie was made for everytime Nicolas Cage (or any star for that matter) was 'trying to get a movie up and running' about their pet subject, Hollywood would be making crappy movies by the dozen. Thankfully studios aren't run by actors, and somewhere a smart man or woman will go, 'now that's an idea, and someone who's not Nicolas Cage would be perfect for the role.'

I'll say from my own previous run ins with Cage, he's kind of a jack a$$. Not a bad guy, just a jack a$$ if you know what I mean. I wouldn't surprise me if he only said that to be included in the conversation and get a chance to talk about himself.

A prime example of what happens when an actor gets to make a movie about his pet subject.

Cage is too old to play the young Pete Townsend. This could be the worst casting decision since Roberto Benigni decided to play Pinocchio.

They need to get Adrien Brody for this!
