In what order should i watch them, and why?

Thanks.

Nosferatu is the classic. Shadow Of The Vampire, as far as companion pieces go, is also quite brilliant.

Watch Nos first, SotV second.

I've noticed that those who watch SotV with no prior knowledge or not having seen Nos seldom appreciate SotV fully. Also, watching in this order allows one to get several inside jokes in SotV.

That's not to say SotV doesn't stand on its own merits. It's still a terrific film. Just remember to skip the opening credits - it's not good to fall asleep before the film's even started.

Yes. SotV has the longest opening credit sequence I've ever seen.

DonnachaOne is right. Definitley see Nosferatu first. It'll make SotV all the more enjoyable.

Am I the only person living (or undead...) who absolutely loves the title sequence for Shadow of the Vampire? What a brilliant mood-setting piece with great music and mysterious iconography...

Argh! you just reminded me that my kid got hold of my soundtrack for this movie and ruined it. Great music! At least my DVD is still in one piece.
