The Coreys: which one would you save?
Corey Haim
or Corey Feldman? If you could save one of their careers (get a time machine and a genie) so that one of them would be a multi-Oscar winner and $20-million-a-picture performer today in 2003? Reflect on who's movies/performances you enjoyed more. Here are a few examples: COREY HAIM: 1984: "Firstborn" (his debut and my favorite) followed by "Murphy's Romance" "Silver Bullet" "Lucas" "Lost Boys" "License To Drive" (runner-up) COREY FELDMAN: TV appearances on "Mork & Mindy" "Time after Time" "The Goonies" (never saw yet) "Gremlins" "Stand By Me" (fav) "The Burbs" "Lost Boys" "License To Drive" (runner-up) "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" |
I'll have to go with Feldman.
I've always preferred Haim.
Haim had a lot of potential when he was younger, but quickly dissapeared. It's as if his mouth never closed and he had the doofy look intact at all time.
Best Performance: Lucas (1986) I voted for feldman. He always had a certain ammount of intensity in him. Too bad he never channeled it right in his performances or had a director use it to benefit the film. Best Performance: Dream a little dream (1988) |
Haven't seen "Dream A Little Dream." Would that rank in the same caliber as "License to Drive?"
If Feldman still had a good career, he wouldnt have been on the surreal life, and thus, not been able to make fun of him. So Haim wins my vote by default.
Voted Feldman
I've met Feldman:

Where's the "neither" option?
Voted for Feldman, because of The Goonies and Friday The 13th. Loved Haim in Lucas though...
Feldman! Haim had potential, but those damn drugs! -ohbfrank- :)
Feldman.
"Stand by Me" is what made me vote for him. I always had this theory that it wasnt a true 80's movie unless one of the two Corey's was in it somewhere.... "Back to the Future" reminded me that its not true. |
probably haim. he's been smart to accept that his 15 minutes are up and he acted appropriately. feldman (who i used to like more) is just kinda pathetic now. he is clinging to anything and everything to stay in public eye. (remember his remember his relationship with jacko???)
funny thread though, because yesterday i was wondering "whatever happened to corey haim?" i saw that he's in a song group for david spade's new movie about child actors....he's put on some major pounds. |
I'd save Wil Wheaton's career. He deserves it the most.
Wil Wheaton?! He's no match for the Coreys - all I've ever seen Wheaton in is "Stand By Me," "Star Trek: The Next Generation," and a guest spot on "Family Ties" as Jennifer Keaton's boy friend.
Feldman for The Burbs.
I don't honestly know why Feldman can't get work in Hollywood - in solid pictures - because a) he looks the same; and b) he talks the same.
If he looks the same now as he did then, and he was doing good pictures then, then why can't he do good pictures now? What's changed? I know why Haim is having a hard go - his looks have changed for the worse. In Hollywood, that will never work. Look at Diane Lane - a child actress, now nominated for an Oscar. Why, cause she's damn gorgeous! |
Feldman, just for The Goonies!
I voted for Feldman. But I will say I wish there were a neither option as well.
I wanted to save Corey Hart!!
Errr never mind :eyebrow: |
I gotta save Mouth. Feldman!!!
Michael Jackson?
Feldman.
He was great in Stand by Me, as well as Blown Away (you know the one I'm talking about). Plus, he had the best line in Lost Boys: "I think I should warn you all. When a vampire buys it, it's never a pretty sight. No two bloodsuckers go out the same way. Some yell and scream, some go quietly. Some explode, some implode. But all will try to take you with them." |
If he looks the same now as he did then, and he was doing good pictures then, then why can't he do good pictures now? What's changed? |
