Quick question about Equilibrium content

Just wondering if the movie has any sexual content or nudity in it. I wanna go watch it with my wife and her brother but he's a bit shy about watching that kinda stuff with his sister.

Thanks.

I downloaded a horrible quality version of it just to check out if its worth watching/buying and decided it was bad. Granted, I ONLY watched the fight/action scenes and thought that even those were cheesy and unoriginal. Come on...why the remake of the lobby scene? The only redeeming fight scene was at the end, but I still felt that the cutting and direction was bad. Plot-wise I cannot account for, as I didn't watch it. Taye Diggs seemed horribly unfit for his role, and a very single-dimensional character who is capable of much more.

Now, I am open to criticism and new ideas, so help me out without spoiling the film. Does the movie have a coherent plot? Is it feasible? Low on the cheese and unoriginality? A lot of people seemed to like it, so I'll give it another shot when the dvd comes out.

the movie rocked! do a search...there were some good threads with detailed discussions on it.

i think the fact that you watched a crappy copy on your computer vs seeing in the theater makes a difference though. especially the fight scenes...you need the full effect.

but im defintely buying this when it comes out!

when does it come out?!

btw: "Taye Diggs seemed horribly unfit for his role, and a very single-dimensional character who is capable of much more" - if you saw the movie you would understand why. you need to watch it to get it. a great deal of the movie revolves around being very one dimensional

I saw this last night at the theatres and you guys are hyping it up way too much. It's not that good. The action scenes are few and far between. The acting is quite lazy in some parts but it's hard to tell whether that's just the actors trying to act brainwashed by the 1984-ish society or not. Patrick Bateman.. ahh I mean Christian Bale does show that he's a strong actor, showing a man torn between 2 very powerful things.
The main thing I disliked about it had to be the post apocolyptic society that tries to be like something out of 1984. It just didn't seem right. It wasn't believeable in the slightest. Maybe back several decades ago when people could believe that so much control could be taken over society the story might have worked, but not today.

For me:
(Matrix) X (Gattaca) / (1984) = Equilibrium.

2.5 stars out of 5.

Watch the news much?
I whole heartedly believe that so much control can be taken over society today.

That's a different thing. I'd believe a movie about the media using subliminal messaging and biased views to give people ideas, and sway them towards towards doing something stupid. But the level of control shown in the movie was akin to a concentration camp. I really couldn't see it happening unless the earths population was brought down to several thousand people all living in the same city.
