which child sidekicks did not suck !!!

not sure if this is supposed to be in movie talk .. but most movies are on DVD anyway ..

I am just watching "temple of doom" and I am amazed how much Short Round does NOT suck .. he is a fun child side kick .. serious, but yet not a grown up in a small body .. and I cannot come up with anything comparible ..

I also wonder if this actor has been considered for IJ4 .. and what else he did (i will hit the IMDB as soon as I have posted that )

so .. any other examples ??

Ke Huy Quan was also excellent in The Goonies as Data - one of many sidekick's to Mikey Walsh, the "leader" of the Goonies.

Check out Shogun Assassin or the Lone Wolf and Cub series.
Best child sidekick of all-time!

Damn, you read my mind!

As well as the kid from "The Mummy Returns" ...

Jake Lloyd in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace

You probably should change the title to reflect which child sidekicks did suck, I honestly can't think of any that didn't.

Seth Green was awesome as a child star, particularly in Can't Buy Me Love and Woody Allen's Radio Days.

Was Seth Green the little brother, Chuck, in Can't Buy Me Love? Of "Shut up, chuck!" fame? I never knew that.

Another vote for Jonathan Ke Quan as Short Round.

Emil Minty (as The Feral Kid) was pretty good in Mad Max 2.

Haley Joel Osmet did a fine job in Sixth Sense and A.I. ... although i guess he wouldn't be considered a side kick. The kid in Unbreakable annoyed the hell outta me... same with Gladiator.

Oh man. I second Natalie Portman in Leon: The Professional. I don't know how I could have forgotten one of my favorite films of all time. Dang, she was good in that!

The kid that provided Antoine with Runaway shelter in the 400 Blows did not suck.

I've got to agree 100% with Pants - Edward Furlong was terrible and essentially ruined the film - that and the lame one-liners like "hosta la vista baby."
