What do you think is the best/worst taglines of all time?

<b>The Best</b>:

"Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water..."

JAWS 2 (1978)

This tagline has been ripped off or parodied many times over the years. You could almost <i>hear</i> John Williams' shark theme after you read that line.



<b>The Worst</b>:

"This time it's personal"

JAWS THE REVENGE (1987)

What was supposed to send chills down your spine, instead sparked unintentional laughter from audiences.

A character from the aforementioned JAWS 2 even states: "Chief Brody, sharks don't take things personally." Guess the creators forgot that 9 years later.

Best tag for a sequel:

"The magic is back!" (Lethal Weapon 2)

Most <i>unoriginal</i> tag for a sequel:

"The magic is back again!" (Lethal Weapon 3)

really not that great a tag, but the tag is probably more famous than the movie

Simple and to the point, better than alot of other taglines IMO.

Also the Jurassic Park one...thats classy as well.

<i>sucks</i> as in bad. Everything is so bad in Vietnam that even the wind <i>sucks</i>. It's a play on words.

Also, sucks the life right out of you.

In space, no one can hear you scream.

Oh I get the joke, it just always struck me as really inappropriate...I know FMJ is a black comedy, but that tagline seems like something that would be on Airplane or Top Secret! or something

Reading that made me think of Mike Nelsons Movie Megachees article about the Volcano tagline. So funny.

Dumb & Dumber: "For Harry and Lloyd, every day is a no-brainer."

Kingpin: "From the idiots what brung you 'Dumb & Dumber.'"

i always liked "look closer" from american beauty. if you pay attention you can see it in the background at least once.

I like Chicago's tagline.....

"If you can't be famous, be infamous."

As for worst, I would have to nominate The Core. Saw a commercial last night and the tagline at the end was:

"The only way out is in." rotfl

I don't know if it's what you call a tagline, but I saw a poster for the Chris Rock movie Head of State, and its slogan was:

The only thing white is the house.

or something like that. I think that's pretty bad :)
