Does anyone have pictures of him as a young man? I've only seen him looking older. I can't even imagine him as a young man.

That reminds me of the poster from a film called Kairo (a.k.a. Pulse)

I think Annie Hall is the youngest I've seen him. That role started it all....

What is it about him? I say it's the roles he picks. While not always commercial sucesses, they are great roles, with great dialogue. Take Blast from the Past. Not a good movie, but the scenes in the shelter make it worthwhile. No one else could have made it as funny.

p.s. Sissy Spacek should have won the oscar for her part in that flick.

Yeah, that was funny as all hell.

I think the best illustration of his work is in Pulp Fiction. Try and get any other actor to deliver that long story with a totally straight face and matter of fact tone.
Also, IMO, he was the last Bond villain to actually be worth anything.

His best role was the Archangel Gabriel in The Prophecy, IMHO.

Did anyone see the cowbell SNL skit on Comedy Central last night? I know most have seen it, but after this thread it was worth a re-watch.

Christopher Walken is one of my favorite actors. His delivery is so deadpan, but he can still be extremely funny.

Yeh, I was rolling when I saw that. Conan has got to be the funniest guy on TV. They should cancel Leno and bump Conan up an hour.

Walken rocks. And from what I hear, he's quite a fan of hot dogs.

This thread needs more cowbell!

"Fellas, I put my pants on one leg at a time, just like you... But then I go out and make gold records!"

"Babies, when I'm through with you you're all gonna be wearing gold-plated diapers!"

"If legendary producer Gene Dickinson says we need more cowbell, then I think we'd better give him more cowbell!"

...from Pulp Fiction:

"The way your dad looked at it, this watch was your birthright. He'd be damned if any of the slopes were gonna get their greasy yellow hands on his boy's birthright. So he hid it in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you."
