Bernie Mac as Chris Rock's running mate.

That's classic.

This one should be funny as he%*.

I wasn't sure at first. Then Bernie Mac came on screen and I thought, "Hell yeah" and then I started seeing the old ladies sing Nelly and it lost me again. Something about the mixture of Chris Rock and movies that just doesn't work for me I guess.

mixed feelings about this one...will definately wait until it comes out on DVD to watch

edytwinky 03-03-03 01:41 AM

I'll probably end up seeing it, seems funny

DonnachaOne 03-03-03 10:50 AM

While I'm sure it'll be a funny enough film, Ali G: Indahouse already used a very similar story last year.

So now Ali G can proudly say he was the first to rip off The Candidate and Mr. Smith Goes To Washington.

BOYAKASHA!

"You the Man" "You the Woman!"

Old ladies singing Nelly.

The phrase "The roof is on fire" causing stupid white people to go into a panic and belive that the roof actually is on fire.

"I'll take 'Three things you could include in a preview to make me not want to see it' for 1000, Alex."

I'm with you regarding Chris Rock and movies, but, I'll be checking this one out just for Bernie Mac...

Chris Rock has yet to be in a film that was even worth watching. This looks to be no exception. Count me out, he sucks, even in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

gregorymarshall 03-12-03 11:05 AM

Whatever, the Nelly video was funny - lets rip off that!!

Bust 03-12-03 11:38 AM

Are you sure this isn't just some weird dimension where "Down To Earth" meets "The Distinguished Gentleman"?

Big Boy Laroux 03-12-03 11:57 AM

exactly, majorjoe.

i will not be seeing the movie based ont he preview. isn't the preview supposed to make you want to see it? so it should include some funny parts?

the whole "let's have white people misunderstand slang and later say 'off da hizzle fo shizzle.'" is not funny.

even the joke of rock's they show "what's 4 plus 4? 44!" isn't funny.

the only remotely funny part of the preview is when bernie mac is asked about NATO.

lesterlong 03-12-03 01:02 PM

Glad I'm not the only one that found the preview to be unfunny. Wasn't there that other movie with Warren Beatty that was kinda like this?

Pants 03-12-03 01:04 PM

Yeah but Bullworth was a brilliant satire of the Democratic party...this is just silly crap-ola

Charlie Goose 03-12-03 05:43 PM

White people are SO lame!

http://charliegoose.homestead.com/files/goose.jpg Honk!

Jericho 03-12-03 11:08 PM

White people have names like Lenny and Black people have names like Carl

Tarantino 03-12-03 11:12 PM

Yay, another 'stick a loud black person in what is normally considered a white person's situation' movie! Let the stereotypes/white jokes begin!

I bet we get at least one scene where Chris Rock makes a pack of old white people dance to a rap song.
