Le Dernier combat - as posted above is an excellent choice.
Independence Day - Someone had to say it.
Waterworld - maybe fits in this catagory.
Titan AE
Terminator 1&2
Armageddon
Deep Impact

I don't know if it was mentioned (I didn't read the entire thread), but I saw a trailer for "28 Days Later" which looks like a great end of the world film. Director of The Beach and Trainspotting too! Can't wait for it to come out!

Earthquake
The Siege

This Island Earth (only saw the Mystery Science Theatre version)

I just wish they'd get around to making a faithful interpretation of I Am Legend, which would easily become a must-have of this psuedo-genre.

Would End of Days count? And on that same thread, Dogma and The Book of Life: 2000 Seen By... might be good additions as well.

The Thing. wasn't gonna add it before, but i think it kinda fits in. i think the isolation fits in well, plus that if it is unleashed to the world, ...well.

also,

The Crazies
The Postman- that's a good one, i think it bombed but since i also very much enjoy movies where the world is coming to an end, but more so, dealing with the aftermath.

Just read on The Digital Bits that Miracle Mile is finally coming to DVD on June 3. Another one off my want list.

Hopefully some of the others mentioned (Night of the Comet, Testament, Quiet Earth) will follow.
