Worst deaths
I got to thinking about "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" (Idon't know why) and I looked back on the scene where Christopher Lloyd introduced the "dip." After thinking about the way he dispatched that cartoon shoe, it hit me, "that was really vicious!"
So the question is, what are the most grusome movie deaths? Think about the way the individual is killed, but also think about the malice involved. Was the killer sadistic? |
Joe Pesci and his brother Dominick in Casino. By far one of the most brutal ways to die.
|
Private Mellish being slowly stabbed by the German soldier in Saving Private Ryan (supposedly it was "Steamboat Willie" from early on in the film but Spielberg himself has denied it).
|
In Platoon,

Also, in Leaving Las Vegas, it's pretty tough to watch Spoiler:
I know these are not gruesome, but they are worst deaths in my opinion. Either abandoned or hopeless, both are terrible ways to die. stoolie |

There was a movie called Bird on a Wire. Some guy fell into a tank full of piranahs. That would suck.
|
In Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead, one of the guys dies by a method called Buckwheats. Sucky way to go. They shoot you up the butt and you bleed to death.

The lawnmower scene in "Dead Alive" (Brain Dead) was pretty gruesome. Although the people were already dead, so I guess that doesn't technically qualify.
In "Dr. Strangelove" when Slim Pickins rides a thermo-nuclear device down to ground zero. The bus scene in "Final Destination". When the shark comes out of nowhere and eats Samuel L. Jackson in the middle of his big inspirational speech in "Deep Blue Sea". |
Final Destination 2 has a few:

Another one from Final Destination: Spoiler:

Hands down, the worst death ever was in "Marked for Death".
Spoiler:
Keep in mind this happens to the same guy in about a minute. Ouch |
RoboCop. OK, Murphy didn't "die" but it was pretty bad. Also the bad guy who got splatered by the car after the toxic "bath".
|
Recently, I'd have to say the snake scene in Collateral Damage.
Worst death I've ever seen: The razor victim in New York Ripper. |
Scanners, cheesy 80's flick, this guy has the ability to blow your head off useing his mind, one of the best sceens ive ever seen in a movie, worth the price for that sceen alone.
|
I agree with Scanners, and add the finale:

Die Hard 2

Con Air Spoiler:
A movie a saw when I was a kid can't remember the name of it. (I think it was one of those Chuck Norris "POWs in the jungle" type movies) Spoiler:
|
Sean Connery in "The Untouchables" . He just suffered a lot heh.
|
Oops forgot the poor cop in "Reservoir Dogs" hah !
Not only did he get tremendous pain and humiliation in getting his ear cut off, he (at least !) gets wacked matter of factly by Nice guy Eddie (thus putting him out of his misery...) |
I hated how the four Autobots died on the shuttle in the Transformers movie. Ironhide gets it right in the face.
|
Mel Gibson's wife getting her throat slit in "Braveheart." It's the whole "scanning the hills" thing, looking for him to save her that gets me. She looks so scared.
Of course, Mel killing the officer that did it in the same way, without saying a word or hesitating for a minute, friggin rules. |
Regarding Saving Private Ryan. Watch the movie again. The guy who stabs Mellish is not Steamboat Willie, although he's similiar physically. Willie does show up later on and...
Spoiler:

Worst death on screen??
Eddie Murphy's career in Pluto Nash? Sylvester Stallone's career in Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot? The worst was the death of all that is good and decent in the world in Battlefield Earth. |
I don't know about you guys but the worst death offscreen has got to be the one in Pulp Fiction when Marsellus says he's going to get some n***as to go to work on Zed.I can't imagine what they did to him.I second the death of the mutant guy in Robocop who gets hits hy the car.
|
Pity poor Pat Roach. He's the Nazi that was splattered on by the Flying Win's prop in Raiders of the Lost Ark, the Thuggee that was ground up in the rock crusher in Temple of Doom and would have been the Nazi knocked out of the zepplin in Last Crusade if his scene hadnt been cut.
Worst run of luck ever. Speaking of movie deaths, I've always wondered about the Wizard of Oz.. Why did the Wicked Witch leave buckets of water just lying about her castle? That's like Superman leaving Kryptonite on the coffee table in the Fortress of Solitude. |
