Oddly enough, I am surprised that 'Last House on the Left' has hardly been mentioned.
I still say my mention beats out everything else in that flick. Yeowch....

I'm surprised that there's not more horror films.

One death in Leviathan (only saw it on TBS, so it was free), a guy gets eaten from the inside out.

Alien 4 -- guy's head is crunched.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre -- really, nuff said, but specifically getting hung up on a meat hook has gotta hurt. She died eventually, but probably wish she's gone earlier.

How about Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? Having your body disintegrage has to blow.

There was this movie, Slugs I think (regardless, it was about mutant slugs...). This guy was bitten by a radioactive slug (yes, crappy movie I saw latenight on USA) and I think he basically melted or started bleeding out of every orafice. Another guy was eaten alive by slugs... Geez, why'd I watch that again?

The fact that its Anthony Hopkins in a Chef's hat makes it even more comedic.

Here are some movies that are rather dumb, but do have some impressive deaths.

Jason Goes to Hell
Spoiler:
In the unrated version at least, a girl has her whole top half chopped off in the middle of an orgasm.

Under Siege 2
Spoiler:
Two lovers are thrown out of a train into a ravine. Not so bad it's just that they only had on robes and were barely through with their coital activity when killed. That would suck!

Resident Evil
Spoiler:
A guy narrowly misses being sliced by a laser beam, only to have it expand into a laser net. In a mirror, you see him slide apart with oozy sounds.

Anaconda
Spoiler:
While totally hokey, nobody deserves to be vomited out by a snake, even Jon Voight.

The Guyver
Spoiler:
Mark Hamill turns into a bug. Again, it's hokey, but Luke Skywalker deserves a better death.

And while I do not know the movie, I saw a clip of an old B/W film where a woman has her hands tied and is struggling and screaming while a mechanism triggered by two toy soldiers putting their guns together fires an arrow at her. I never knew if it actually killed her or not, but it left an impression on a four year old!
