The Animatrix

here is a link to the latest Matrix-related work and trailer

click on the trailer

and the short film

The Second Renaissance.

Stupendous works of art, in my opinion.

The one they posted online screamed medicrocy. The animation was very nice but it just seemed like it was going "Blah blah blah.." Another typical anime downfall is these shows or shorts that try so hard to be philisophical they end up just mocking themselves (Lain comes to mind as champion).. I'm still willing to give the rest a chance, but I think the movies should be enough for simple "cool" factor.

I've seen all but one of the Animatrix shorts, and they are all pretty amazing. The Second Renassiance Part 2 is better than the first, IMO. More powerful and emotional. The best of the bunch has to be The Last Flight of the Osiris, though. The animation is amazing and the music and sound is incredible.
