Is Guy Ritchie obsessed w/ making Madonna Ugly?

Add to this the way he treats her in the BMW short film/commercial "Star". I spent the whole 10 minute movie mentally debating if that really was Madonna or not. He lights her so unflatteringly that she looks 10 years older. Then of course he casts her in both films as the most vexing, cruel, unlikeable woman. In the films own words she is a "cun+". What is with this guy? Why does Maddona with all her image conscious savy allow this?
...and the effect is frightening. She is so badly photographed in this movie she's scary to look at - I had more nightmare from this film than the last five Freddy Krueger movies combined.

Madonna was positively disgusting in DIE ANOTHER DAY.

He isn't trying to light or photograph her in an unflattering way... he just hasn't figured out how the other people have managed to make her look good. I've seen her in person, and she is haggard. Looks beat up and worn out. It's a miracle that she looks as good as she does in certain photos/films/videos. Were any of you under the impression that celebrities are always stunningly gorgeous from any angle under any lighting conditions? Many of them look like hell in real life.
